  1. I wouldn't say UK "survived". They did one American tour when Bruford and Holdsworth were in the group. I don't know of any other American tours. According to Wikipedia, they did three tours.
  2. I wouldn't say UK "survived". They did one American tour when Bruford and Holdsworth were in the group. I don't know of any other American tours. I'll defer to you there - I don't think I ever heard Asia or UK. UK was a super group without a hit. Asia was a pop group providing employment for former progrockers without a band.
  3. Oh... So you're one of those high brow artsy blue collar morons. I am too.

  5. Not yet. .
  6. Big Whoop wanna fight about it? Sorry man...I never got Maiden. Killer rhythm section though.
  7. Boring jams that don't rock?
  8. ...and I got crap about a Deep Purple thread!
  9. That your neighbor is a wingnut? That too.
  10. One of my wingnut neighbors tried telling me that Google street view was done with satellites. There...now the whole world knows.
  11. What the fuck is your problem? Enough with the Hitler "jokes". .
  12. I think they want it to be him, but that's not a Gibson SG double neck or his custom guitar. db
  13. The problems in 2007, which came to a head in the last couple of months of that year, arose from personal attacks and indeed the different American and European interpretations of freedom of speech. They drove members like couw, deus62/neveronfriday and a few others away. I was also very upset and left the board for a while. I miss couw - the board was a better place with his contributions. You're right. Unfortunately, he has no intention to return. Please send my regrets about this to John, if possible. He was a good guy. (and hopefully still is...) miss couw 2. he was a lotta fun.
  14. OK, knock it off you guys, you're not discussing Jazz Fusion & Progressive Rock enough for this thread.
  15. Hush now. You're going to chase everybody off.
  16. I've only seen it once in a store 20 years ago. Too bad I didn't grab it then!
  17. what he said.
  18. They want to see how everybody feels about the exit. Maybe someone will beg them to stay. Another day of drama on.... As The Organissimo Turns.
  19. Thanks for stopping in Jon. I always find your posts interesting, no matter what forum they're on. Which other one are you on? All about Jazz or the usenet board? Both. There I mostly read. I'm also 7/4 at AAJ.
  20. Hmm...yeah, but there's a lot of thread drift around here.
  21. You're correct, what I was trying to get across was his overall "sound", which is a combination of the electronics+how he plays. There's a lot of video from the last ten years showing his hands playing (and I've watched a lot at shows) where you can see how much he uses the wammy bar. I'm not saying he owes all his magic to it, but there's no doubt he's a Stratocaster man.
  22. Tell us about his hair. Has he changed it? No. This also brings tears to my eyes.
  23. Power amp distortion (instead of pre-amp distortion). db I think it's more in his fingers, his touch. Then that's his phrasing, not his tone. (or maybe I have the terms mixed up).
