  1. To get to the other side.
  2. Woah, woah, woah. The Office is the best NBC has. :rsmile: I tried watching an early episode and it was a bit too much for me...working in an office all these years. Now that I'm not, I should give it a spin. I think that would make it all the more funny for you. All the nuances that go on in a day-to-day office is excatly what they focus on, making it all the more entertaining. Check out season one, if you can, especially "Diversity Day." Not after what I went through. I may have post-traumatic stress syndrome.

  4. Anybody else watching this? I watched last season, but missed all but tonights show this season. It's a blast, the best NBC has...

  7. Like long hair, it's just another thing to grab a hold of.
  8. It's ALL done for money. Show me the musician who didn't want paying. MG There's plenty. There's the ones who are OK with $20 a night for playing in a restaurant and then there's the ones who are only interested in making money, they measure their success by how much they make, not how good the music is. There's my short answer, if that doesn't make sense, well...you would have to be there. But the ones who do it for $20 a night are still being paid; they're doing it for money. That's a commercial activity. It's not VERY commercial, I'll agree. But people who talk disparagingly about "commercial" never say HOW commercial commercial has to be before they think it's bad; they always use it as an absolute term. MG Maybe that example didn't make my point very well. There are musicians who don't make any money, who are just glad to get their music heard.

    the Police, the band

Well, if it wasn't for Sting and his songwriting, those two would be nowhere. In fact, they pretty much were, before this reunion. I still have a hard time believing that Andy Summers is 64, though. You may have a point in terms of commercial success but I'd suggest listening to Kip Hanrahan's recordings with Bruce if you think the latter was "nowhere" artistically in the interim. I think Kari is only talking about the Police. as for Jack Bruce...I like those recordings with Robin Trower. Too bad there isn't more than two albums.
  11. Done for money, not for artistic purposes.
  12. NO DANCING!!!! So, you are obviously not marrying Ren McCormick. That must be the case, 'cause he would never stand for no dancing. They tried to hold him back once, it was a hard fight, but in the end he won. And you know what he said? "Hey Hey! What's this I see? I thought this was a party. LET'S DANCE!"
  13. He would have been 90 today.
  14. You really know how to sell a band. :rsmile:
  15. And that's exactly what is happening at http://www.wkcr.org at least until midnight today, edst. I tuned into WKCR for morning classical to hear what's on and their birthday broadcast is on! Happy Birthday Mr. Monk.
  16. interesting...

    the Police, the band

    You know I'm joking... :rsmile:
  18. It sure is. I've heard it a zillion times. I've known La Monte for about 12 years and his music for about twice that long.
  19. And just as I made that post, I received email about the Dream House opening for year 15.
  20. They've been playing one disk a week for a few weeks. I have my own copy...

Earlier I added this to a political thread titled the Police. It took me a few min to realize what I did.
  23. And even many more happy returns!
