This compilation covers CD 1 and 2 up to track 4 of the big RCA box and CD 1tracks 1-19 of the Okeh Ellington. Leaving out the alternate take of Black and Tan Fantasy. Also the Pathé and Plaza group sessions are missing. In total 15 tracks are missing.
Is the Okeh material remastered? That would be quite welcome.

This one really worked for me this morning.

Are you getting into shape for part 5?
Exactly! I've got a pre-order in my future...

Love this series.

Hadn't listened to either of these in an very long time and found them both excellent.

It seems that I've seen George Russell's appearance on The Subject Is Jazz discussed, posted etc. in this forum; nevertheless, here it is again:

Maybe you and Ms. TTK can get a bit together to do at parties?

That looks interesting. Does it collect specific LPs? Discogs is not much help.
It seems to collect mostly 78's and so forth from before the lp era.

Which record was that you were listening to? I like this one a lot. Very loose and imaginative and not too stuck in a swing rhythm when it doesn't want to be.
This 3 disc collection has been a revelation and a lot of fun. I checked out Jo Privat on YouTube and was overwhelmingly impressed, so I rounded up a copy of Manouche Partie for myself. Thank you for the excellent recommendation.

A discussion on this site about the song Flying on the Ground Is Wrong had me reaching for Joni Mitchell.

I am just discovering that there is a Dire Straits record that I like...

The Albums That Never Were site posted a version of this album as it might have been had David Crosby been on board.

Okay I just gave a listen to the one track that's available... Not feeling it... Who's the vocalist?
On Apple Music the one available selection is Devil Blues which sports a vocal by George Adams, the tenor player. This track is "fun," but does not represent what Mingus was up to on the Moves/Changes records.

As a much younger jazz enthusiast I did not enjoy Benny Goodman, but over time I came to seek out Charlie Christian, Teddy Wilson, Mel Powell and others in the Goodman orbit and ended up amassing a respectable number of Benny Goodman releases before I dug him at all. Of course I get it now and my BG acquisitions are intentional.

George Adams' playing drives me up a wall; always goes into that patented yodel of his; an entire Mosaic of him would definitely send me to the loony bin (which might make my wife happy).
I will tell you a great Mosaic - and one that I actually believe would do well - Dave Schildkraut; I've got everything, even one with a solo from circa 1954 that sounds pre-Coltrane (and Trane admired him, voted for him once as best alto, and dedicated a song to him at his Jazz Gallery gig). There's plenty, a lot of amazing side man work, and I think I have everything (including a mint reissue LP pressing of Like Cool with Eddie Bert and Hank Jones). And I recorded him in 1978 and there is some amazing stuff that he did.
That settles it; I guess the consensus is for Schildkraut.
A Dave Schildkraut collection would be exceptional: the sideman work alone encompasses George Handy, Tito Puente, Tony Bennett, Pete Rugulo, Johnny Richards, Oscar Pettiford, Chuck Wayne, John Graas, Miles Davis, and Stan Kenton. Of course there's the licensing dilemma...

The Andy Kirk box would have to be very selective as there is a very high percentage of forgettable vocals in that discography.
The Frank Strozier set sounds like a Mosaic in waiting to me...
