Or...you could figure out what went wrong and see if it can be fixed... I mean, you seem like a quirky guy who might have a quirky project on your hands. Not enough quirk in the world these days. Striking out for Out 1 in the top of the first isn't the same as striking out for Out 3 in the bottom of the 9th, know what I'm saying? Or maybe this is none of my business.

So they're giving it away anyway. Nifty!

As of about 7:20 CDT this evening: Doppler shows light rain patches, so it would have been light rain (lloks like nothing enough to stop play), light rain stops, light rain moves back in, this all night long. The postponement was the right move, definitely. Not for a regular season game, but for a game like this, yeah.

BTW - that technique works quite well for quite a few paywall-type articles, if only because it's amazing how many of those articles end up in complete or almost-complete form on other sites, up to and including those of local newspapers. That happens a lot with business/financial news. My guess is that the source of the article also has an agreement with these local papers to provide content, and they figure that people can't figure out the internet enough to put two and two together. Eitehr that or else they haven't figured out the internet enough to put two and two together. But really, hell, I'm just a non-techie type with a natural curiosity as to how things work. It ain't exactly hacker-level voodoo, ya' know? So unless and until doing a Google search becomes illegal, I got no compunctions about this one whatsomever.

Hm. You want to access it but you dont want to pay... Jim's got tips on that kind of impasse in the Gigi Gryce thread! Indeed i do. It's called using Google & using Firefox. Go to the paywall article, highlight the first two sentences or so, search Google for them, and voila: http://www.google.com/search?q=Anthony+Braxton+will+never+forget+writing+and+producing+his+first+opera.+%22I+failed%2C%22+he+said.+%22My+marriage+broke.+I+had+a+heart+attack.+I+went+into+ma&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a The first link takes you directly to the paywall article. At least it does for me. Very complicated, highly illegal. Don't try it unless you've got nothing left to live for.

Time was when theft was more clearly identified and hid less behind public domain laws.

Please elaborate on this...and how will you accept payment?

And then pass the copy along to somebody who needs it and who can be trusted to also do the right thing when the time comes.Or some kid who doesn't even know what they don't know, but wouldn't mind starting to find out.

3 negatives in one sentence. Well, two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do.

They're probably still trying to find a diagrammatic title that does this justice...

Please elaborate! This is just a hint of the joyful reaction this BFT will inspire in you, and any nearby highly attractive women. Are we talking lots of wah-wah pedal?

Arista...they were a player for quite a while, and had a great jazz run in the '70s for some reason I've still not figured out....what major label is going to tell people like Cusucuna, Backer, etc. to just go ahead and record Braxton, Air, Abrams, Ran Blake, Michael Gregory Jackson(!), Oliver Lake, etc.? Other than A&M, that is, but Clive Davis gave his freaks a longer (in terms of both duration and distance) than Herb Albert gave John Snyder.

Game 6 postponed until tomorrow. Game 7, if needed, on Friday. Various personal reports from St. Louis are saying that the chance of any meaningful precipitation continue to drop as time passes, but certain good weather cannot be guaranteed until tomorrow. If you're still out there, Tim, this is torture!

It's still Wide Open Spaces, but if you don't get greedy, have good, current protection(s), and stick to trusted, proven sources, it's a pretty safe ride. But there is a learning curve...not too steep, but... Let me put it this way - if you're at some Russian (just an example) site that has a lot of flashing ads for phone sex and cheap ED pills and floating ads for some game you've never heard of coming at you right and left, get the hell out of there ASAP, I don't care if they do claim to have a download of that never-issued-on CD Gigi Gryce album waiting for you. You don't need it THAT bad, ya'know? And run a total system scan immediately afterwards. Best/safest bets are the so-called "sharity" blogs, of which there are many that are well-established & can be trusted. They do what they do out of a genuine desire to share difficult to find music. The ones that offer damn near anything and everything, stay away from them. They might be safe, but they ain't right, if you know what I mean. Torrents...definitely more, damn near infinite, options in torrent-land.I'm not that much of a fan myself, but if you get somebody who's conversant with that whole world, it can be pretty safe too. In other words, have a kid around. You definitely need to excercise caution and discretion, have a good, well-protected system, and be able to resist temptation. Anything you download should be looked at as an audition copy only, in my opinion. If you like it, do the right thing by the right people if/when the option comes available. If you don't, delete it off your hard drive.

My states' governor governs a state comprised of a lot of people who resist governance in general, especially by that particular governor!

Ah, the more I think about it, not knowing how the Busch Stadium field drains or the proclivities of the St. Louis groundskeepers, I suppose a guaranteed dry field is the way to go. Cold & damp won't do Colby's hip any good anyway... It's actually warm and sunny here, though...makes me wonder what would have happened if Prince hadn't crushed CJ in July. Ah, randomness...
