  1. Seems that I recall a thing about 10-20 years ago, maybe on PBS, a documentary about Newark, or something. Just caught the last 30 minutes or so of it and never saw it again. Anyway, there was sporadic footage of GM3 playing alone in his apprtment or something. Also had clips of Eric Gale playing a gritty blues in a club, maybe with Stuff. Not much to go on, but does this ring a bell w/anybody? Details would be appreciated if it does. As always, thanks in advance.
  2. I'd think that a sympathetic rapper could do something pretty interesting with this idea. Anybody know one? Especially with a Max thing, or something like that. The rhythm's already there, and so's the atitude. Some of those cats are true street poets and can fit words into any shape at any speed, so why not? It's times like this I wish I had money and connections...
  3. Pretty damn good, I think. AMG has it pretty much correct. Those classic Corea tunes found their first voice with this band. The liner notes tell the story. Stay away if you can't handle electric piano, though. That goes for the album, too. Who/what the hell is this "Penguin" thing anyway? If it/they call this one a "dud", I'd guess they're pretty much in a state of crania-en-recti.
  4. Thanks. Sounds like this might be uncharted territory, eh?
  5. Good enough playing, but the tunes are way too short, imo.
  6. Uh... ......................................no?
  7. Wranglers tend fit those of us with protruding (slightly or otherwise) abdomenical areas better than do Levis. What I need to find now is some britches for the man who's lost all of his ass to said abdomenicals. What about that, huh?
  8. On such bets are fortunes lost.
  9. And maybe you can work into getting an answer to the question! Seriously, has this ever been done before? Anybody ever put words to a drum solo?
  10. Not too shabby either, this one.
  11. And it's none too bad, either.
  12. Not yet.
  13. Personally, I don't think that oil and skinny legs compliment each other.
  14. That's Belinda Carlisle.
  15. Even by a poet? If not, my nominee for first attempt is Msx Roach's solo on "Joy Spring". Tell me that thing can't have words put to it!
  16. Judging from your (avatar) background, Jim - square and white - I guess you know what you're talking about ...... More than you know!
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this Eddie thing a sort of "jazz response" to things like the Chess HOWLING WOLF U.K. SESSIONS, etc.?
  18. Puts me in mind of Lord Buckley's bit about the Marquis De Sade's chairs...
  19. Q. What are the benefits of eating Canned Salmon? A. Canned Salmon is an excellent source of protein. It is high in Omega-3 fatty acids and contains all of the essential amino acids as well as Vitamin A, and Niacin and Riboflavin from the B-Complex group. In addition, the small bones are an excellent source of calcium. http://www.kelley-clarke.com/faqs/benefits.asp
  20. Nearly 40 years later, I'm still not sure how it feels. But damned if I don't keep trying to figure it out.
