asked my chinese colleague what he can read (so maybe let's forget for a moment that he keeps his dirty laundry under my table at work) he says the song is called "I want you come" ( ) the artist is Yi Min (where Yi is the family name) and the company is called Shanghai Beidai Cassette Company (where i wouldn't take the word cassette too literally as he called the record a cassette...)

what about woody shaw's song of songs?

wonder whether the studio takes are the material from the mosaic or the session Anthoy Ortega mentioned in his interview with Steve Isoardi... or both? some board members might know more...?

stange story, sometime last year i talked to a flea market seller (who had exactly on jazz cd, a woody herman best of, the keith jarrett cd was already sold and) who had a job at WDR about archive material being deleted by the radio stations; he told me something along the lines of "i ran into gigi campi recently, maybe you've heard of him, and he told me he had looked into the WDR archives recently and all (?!) the stuff he had produced was deleted"... hope this is not too true...
