Johnny Griffin and Sonny Clark at their prime! The Conn sounded blah, so hopefully the RVG will be eons better. Spun the Conn last night and thought it sounded pretty good, great session but then you can hardly go wrong with early Griff as i recall, andy warhol did the cover art. wonder what the original vinyl cover goes for these days.

yeah dan but you can't beat the price you paid for the disc! i enjoyed it but only recognized song #2 (i posted about this cd recently) thanks for an enjoyable cd!

I just looked on the Concord site, and not only is New Directions available directly from them, it's on sale for $7.98. I actually got the New Directions second-hand, but the Concord site would have been the last place I've looked for it. welcome! back from undercover... if you want to check out Schütz or rather the great Koch-Schütz-Studer gang, I'd go for "Heavy Cairo Traffic", their meeting with traditional egyptian musicians - a great disc! I think it's on the Intuition label - I have no idea if you can find that in the US... but you should find it somewhere on the net, I suppose. enjoyed heavy cairo traffic!! can't find "acceleration"
