now the fun starts! like i said! (still think the heat stink jim?) what makes the heat a championship team this year is that even when they are not playing great, they still win the games! even when their stars (wade, shaq) turn in an average game, the supporting cast steps it up! -

anyone have any observations regarding this one, I like this disc a lot. I think it is better than Twenty Minute Cliff. I seem to recall some people, probably in the Funny Rat thread, were not so keen on it, so you might want to do a search. i enjoyed this a lot!

Yes, I understand it's a CD. Do you mean it's a digipac? That's just how they make these things. If there were no liners -- save for a tracklist and a few lines of yadda -- on the original LP, there will be no liners with the LPR CD. it is one of those cardboard jobs with an opening on the left flap to slide in a booklet. the cd lays flat on the right side.

this is a cd and it has a "place" for liner notes, but none inside. thanks for checking guys.

Heat playing the waiting game before East finals By TIM REYNOLDS, AP Sports Writer MIAMI (AP) -- A day after the Miami Heat clinched another trip to the Eastern Conference finals, Pat Riley celebrated by taking his wife to lunch, two movies, then dinner. Here's hoping Chris Riley liked "The Sentinel" and "The Lost City." Her next date may not be for a while. "I kissed her goodbye this morning at 6 o'clock," Riley said. "And I said, 'See you in a couple weeks."' Miami was back at work Thursday, awaiting either Cleveland or Detroit to emerge from the East's other semifinal matchup; the Cavaliers lead that series 3-2, and could advance by winning in Cleveland on Friday night. And while Riley isn't openly rooting for the Cavaliers per se, he certainly wouldn't mind seeing LeBron James and his mates close out the Pistons in Game 6 -- because that would mean the East finals open Sunday in Miami. Otherwise, the Heat won't play again until Tuesday night, one week removed from ousting the New Jersey Nets. "I'd love to play Sunday. I just would," Riley said. "I don't want to be off seven days with this team." The Heat said they were embracing the idea of a few days of rest; Shaquille O'Neal is always more effective after off days, Dwyane Wade has an array of aches that could use some healing time, and Alonzo Mourning is still working his way back to 100 percent after tearing a calf muscle. But an extended rest -- nine days -- between the conference semifinals and finals last year created ample rust, which the Heat said was at least partially responsible for a lackluster 90-81 loss to the Pistons in Game 1 of the East title series. Detroit went on to win in seven games. "I think we had that a little bit last year playing Detroit," Wade said. "They came down and got us in Game 1 last year at home because we swept the first two rounds and we had, I think, too many days off. So I think Sunday would be a good day for us to get back to playing." Miami spent some time in Thursday's practice prepping for both the Pistons and Cavaliers, although the majority of the workout was apparently designed with Cleveland in mind since the Cavaliers are one win away from advancing. "We're just anxiously awaiting, like everybody else in America," O'Neal said. "We'll just keep an open mind. We're actually preparing for both teams, just trying to keep our energy up. Who knows what's going to happen?" If Cleveland wins Friday, then the stage is set; Games 1 and 2 of the East finals are in Miami on Sunday and Tuesday. If Detroit wins on Friday, then the Pistons and Cavaliers play a winner-take-all game Sunday afternoon in Auburn Hills, Mich. -- and the Heat get to take Saturday off. "Whenever we play, we just have to be ready," O'Neal said. "Doesn't matter to me who we play or when we play. We just have to be ready mentally and physically. And we will be." -
i purchased "Another Voyage" by the Ramsey Lewis Trio used from an Amazon Seller. cd came no problem, fast, plays good. problem: no liner notes (contrary to representation when purchased). i sent an email to the seller - no response. i intend to leave negative feedback, but that does not solve my problem. if anyone has a set i can read, please pm me. thanks!

On page 127 of Nathan T. Davis' "Writings in Jazz" he mentions an alto player considered the "immediate successor" to Charlie Parker. This person was John Jackson, a member with parker of the Jay McShann band and the Billy Eckstine Band. Davis claims that he has heard solos of Parker and Jackson together "on which Jackson proved himself Parker's equal." So what happenned to Mr. Jackson? Did he ever record as a leader? My AMG does not mention him at all!
