while it's fun getting/giving gifts, i'm way done with the materialism of the season. i was chatting about this with my 11 year old yesterday. i suggested that we make gifts for next year. she looked at me like i had 3 heads.
so i asked her "name 2 gifts you recieved last year for Christmas"? she could only name one. then i asked, "what did you give your mom for Christmas last year"? she was stumped. so i said, "i'll bet you'd remember the gift if you made it with your own 2 hands"!
so that will be the topic of our next weekly family meeting.
