  1. Incredibly boring, couldn't stand it till the end.
  2. I can imagine that. The guy needed some aging.
  3. I have heard him play 'Goldberg Variations' once and i did like it to certain extent. Nice find !
  4. Thriftstore-find. Recording dates from 1979. Reissued on Doremi as seen in picture underneath.
  5. I am happy about that ! We all bragg a little bit, this is part of human nature ofcourse.
  6. Anthology of the Concertgebouw (1935-1950) * Bruckner (Gunter Wand) or was this last year ?! * Schubert (Vienna philharmonic quartet, first UK) * Beethoven (Karajan, DGG Collectors edition, 60's cycle) * several Rubinstein discs * Mozart Sonatas ( Allicia De larrocha) * Strauss conducts Strauss * Moravec Recital * The art of the Lute (Paul O'dette) * DiCapo boxes Lipatti, Gieseking, Solomon * Brendel complete Vox * Rubinstein, Fournier/Szeryng Schubert RCA near mint platters * Beethoven Piano Concertos (Schnabel) * Stokowski 10 discs * Dupré complete Emi , ...to call most of the best ones. Could you chose a best ? I found a new Thiftstore because my favorite one dried completely. At this moment i dare to say that over 70 % in my Classical collection is from thriftstores. I hope you understand that it is attractive to mention these finds. I hope it doesn't come across as bragging to much. Curious about this recording !
  7. 1.50 euro find of yesterday. 3 CD Complete reference recordings. Hunting has paid of.
  8. Suk is one of those violinist i can't go really wrong with. Found this for 50 cents yesterday.
  9. hope to find this some day ... ... heartfelt Brahms. My favorite. Klemperer is a bit to cold for me compared with 'Giulini'. The Emi set is my favorite and i love the Dgg recordings also.
  10. To expand the Moravec Hommage a little bit ... NP Piano Concerto No. 3 (Ivan Moravec) (Found this one some time ago)
  11. ... and may i ask which recordings of the sixth you have heard ?
  12. What is/are your favorite recording/recordings of the sixth ?
  13. I have the seventh on Orfeo. From what i remember more or the less as good as the studio recording. Don't know about the sixth here.
  14. A first listen and i am curious because there are classical lovers marked this as a reference recording. Found the disc some time ago for a euro and managed to save it for this moment. NP , this totally rocks !
  15. Yes, it is a true reference recording and an absolute must-have for the fifth and seventh. No doubt about it. Harnoncourt certainly has the fire but his recordings lack emotional involvement/depth and the sound of the Chamber Orchestra doesn't work that well ether. Maybe the fifth works best for me here.
  16. Found a near mint copy some time ago ... NP
