  1. Anything with Charles Tyler is exceptional, worth hearing, and if Earl Cross is there, even better. I am fortunate to have recordings from ny 1974, utrecht moers paris 1977. There's an astonishing duo with Steve Reid 1980, besides much more. Charles at the Knitting Factory in 1990. Even a cassette he sent me from his New Ensemble in France the same year. I could never do him justice on homeboy music, but no-one else seems interested. Re-releases are wonderful, tho I personally favour cd technology. But there is so much music still hidden, practically lost, beside the floods on youtube
  2. Arthur Doyle was an exceptional musician. I was lucky to know him and call him a friend. I released a recording of his trio playing 'Nature boy' in studio rivbea in 1972. It has barely been noticed, but if anyone out there would like to hear it, just contact me via www.homeboymusic.co.uk which also contains more information on one of the music's most original figures
  3. The music of WILLIAM BELL, and the amazing box set of STAX demos
  4. years ago I was in touch with the wonderful denis charles. he sent me a cassette of a trio he led with clarence c sharpe and david hofstra (subbing for wilber morris). I felt it was too important for homeboy music and tried to interest any number of record companies in releasing the music. Sadly, no response whatsoever, so joining the enormous volume of significant music which will never see the light of day (I could give you a looooong list !)
