  1. At least you held on. I get the incredibly aggravating thrill of going to bed with a 4-0 lead to find out they lost 8-4, with the asshole they knocked around for four runs ending up with a complete game win. Jesus fucking Christ, what the fuck happened?

Obviously number one is that Wakefield's impressive streak is done, finished, over. Back to league average Wake, hope-for-the-best Wake. And that means that Lester or Beckett HAS TO pick up their fucking game and get it going.

I watched the last 4 innings .....some really pathetic at bats they looked like they wanted to go back to the hotel. Especially Nick Green he looked horrible swinging at crap in the dirt .

Bard looked good ...Damn he looked very comfortable out there.

They need Pedroia and Youk back NOW !

  2. What are you talking about ?....wasn't Giambi on that Yankee team?...He was juicing, probably Jeter too it's funny how he declined so fast.

And A-ROD and Sheffield ........so the Sox came back from a 3-0 deficit because they were juicing and the Yankees were not.

    Typical New York crap.

Umm...er...fish on? Can you say tongue in cheek?

    Up over and out.

Oh humor ...so do you really think Lowell is a juicer ?

  3. Its 100% bull shit to extrapolate anything from this positive test and 50 game suspension into any sort of aspersion whatsoever on the 2004 or 2007 World Championships.

And I say a hearty "FUCK YOU" to anyone who wants to make that claim.

    Dangerous Dan hath spoken.

    :g

I don't know, Dan. Have you ever compared before and after pix of Mike Lowell? If there's a more obvious juicer, I don't know who it would be. Manny and Lowell are just the tip of the iceberg. Once MLB gets to looking into this, who knows what might happen. I mean c'mon, Dan, the Yanks were up 3-0 in 2004 and lost the series? No way that happens unless are chemicals involved.

    Equally Dangerous Dave

    Up over and out.

  4. time to put an * on those Red Sox world series.

Forgetting for a minute what a nightmare putting a retroactive * in the record book would create... I still don't think you can do it because apparently he just tested positive this season only.

You can't do that ...if you could prove evey player on the team was doing roids maybe.

in 07 i don't think Lowell, Ellsbury , pedroia, papelbon , Schill, Beckett, were doing roids.

and even if you do Roids doesn't mean you will win Championships ....A-Rod, Giambi .....

  5. Its those $2600 tickets in front, with the separate entrance (no way to get in for the hoi polloi), free food (with waiter service) and not enough takers. :g

They dropped the price to $1250 a seat and instituted some sort of "bonus" policy for people who paid the higher prices, and yet its still empty or nearly so for a Red Sox series. Its embarrassing for the franchise, IMHO, and I think the stadium is less of a tenth man because the passionate committed fans are farther away from the field.

Spike Lee was sitting by himself with a ton of empty seats around him ....I thought it was because no one liked him.

The tenth man statement is right on , Eck said during the ninth inning that it felt like it was a 15 to 1 ballgame ...the place was like a graveyard !

  6. What is up with the New Yankee Stadium ? Granted I know it was raining a little and cold BUT are they selling seats or what?

Yankees and Red Sox looked like they were playing to an empty house if that same game was played at Fenway, hell you can even throw in some snow ,the place would of been packed !

  7. And how appropriate that it ends on an error - they made three of them and only five of nine runs allowed were earned.

    F-ing pathetic.

The Red Sox need to reach a point where they say Fuck It and just go with the youth Bucholz ,Masterson, Bowden.....

would they ever think of dealing Dice-K ?

PR purposes dealing Dice-K would not be good especially with the Japanese market that the Sox have reached out to for Advertisement .

BUT wouldn't you rather see Bucholz and Masterson in the starting rotation than Dice- K and Penny?

  8. I know there were games attended at Wrigley but the first game I remember would have been around 1972 or '73, Cubs visiting the Mets at Shea. When we lived on Long Island Dad used to get tickets from an old friend who was GM or something at WOR-TV, so we'd have great seats just to the left of the Cub dugout. Often we got tickets to doubleheaders back when they didn't have separate admission.

So what I remember about this particular game was that it was Banner Day, and we made up our own Cub banner - "WE'RE MASOCHISTS - WE LIKE THE CUBS" or something to that effect. So toward the end of the first game we congregated out beyond the LF wall, then came in through center, me and my older brother proudly carrying the ends of the bedsheet we had written our message on. Everyone came down the center of the field, and then were supposed to split off just before home plate and go back up along the baseline. There was no way in hell I was going to get that close to home plate without touching it, and I ran up and did the double-foot, just-won-the-game stomp as some Mets flunkie stepped forward and grabbed my arm, moving me away from the sacred plate.

Afterwards I found out from Mom that the camera was following me and the Mets announcer said something about me. Too bad this was long before VCRs.

My Dad took me to Fenway a lot when i was a kid in fact we were at the game that YAZ hit his 400th home run!

I remember my Dad turned to me and predicted that he would hit it out on his next at bat and sure enough he did.

I'll never forget that.... it was a great moment.

Another thing I remember is that people sat still more back then , there was no disposible income. So NO getting up to get a beer every half inning like they do at Fenway now ....well we will see if they still get up for $8 beers in this economy.

  9. not anymore.

Wake has pitched one of the best games I have ever seen by him . It's interesting they said he has carried a No Hitter into

the 8th inning 4 other times.

Geez the Fans behind the Red Sox dugout just gave him a standing ovation at the end of the inning and everyone is wearing Red .

Do the A's have fans ?

  10. Wakefield is throwing a No Hitter into the 7th inning !

He only threw 39 pitches in the first 5 innings.

    You jixed it!!

No I didn't , Nick Green ( who the hell is Nick Green?) just made an incredible catch behind second base!!

Wake is 6 outs away !
