  1. Larry Carlton – Strikes Twice
  2. Jaimie Branch – Fly Or Die Fly Or Die Fly Or Die ((World War))
  3. Amir ElSaffar – Two Rivers first listen to this, and really enjoying it. As with other records by ElSaffar, I wonder what he'd sound like playing on someone else's record as a sideman. He seems to be a really great trumpeter. I'd love to hear him playing e.g. label mate Henry Threadgill's compositions.
  4. Ketil Bjørnstad, David Darling, Jon Christensen, Terje Rypdal – The Sea II Angry bathtime music.
  5. Great news. Sorry to be a parameters dictator.
  6. Stanley Turrentine – Have You Ever Seen The Rain
  7. World Saxophone Quartet - Breath of Life (1992)
  8. Anthony Wilson – Adult Themes
  9. Build An Ark – Love Part 2
  10. I posted about him yesterday. Will definitely give this a listen.
  11. Erik Friedlander – Block Ice & Propane
  12. May ard Ferguson - M.F. Horn Two Ferguson's one of those guys who looks absolutely enormous in contemporaneous discourse and in historical recollection, but who makes no appearance in history books. I still struggle with all the squealing, but it's a pretty good record. What an ugly cover, though. I like #4&5 much better though, as I assume most people do.
  13. It's a great video. Exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for. Who is the drummer?
  14. That's great. I was vaguely worried that the Dorseys wouldn't get a look in. What are the Harry James records.with which to start? There's been a lot of discussion on a couple of them.
  15. Evan Parker Electro-Acoustic Ensemble – Memory / Vision (2003)
  16. Okay. I like his playing but I don't like the composition. It is a bit folk/metal adjacent 1990s crowd pleaser. I'd like to hear him in other settings.
  17. Akosh S. Unit – Imafa
  18. What’s the significance of 1947 specifically? Wikipedia says Universal is right.
  19. It's a great piece.
  20. Lionel Hampton And His All-Star Alumni Big Band – Newport Uproar!
  21. Luckey Roberts & Willie "The Lion" Smith – Luckey & The Lion: Harlem Piano (1961)
  22. I should add that I love the fact that there is a jazz record called "Sweatin' with Hamp". I would like to buy two copies just to send to Brad Mehldau and Vijay Iyer.
