  2. British Columbia Lions 20....Winnipeg Blue Bombers 17 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4523797 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=403793 Another fantastic game. Paul McCallum kicked a 41-yard field goal on the last play of the game to win it. Another see-saw battle. The Lions led 10-0 at the half, with all of their points in the second quarter. The Lions tried a new offense in the first quarter, and it didn't work. In the first half, the Bombers got only 4 first downs. But the Bombers scored the next 14 points, and led by four with less than five minutes to go in the game. BC scored a touchdown, and the Bombers tied it with 27 seconds left in the game.

See-saw battle with two good offenses and two good defenses. Sean Whyte kicked a 37-yard field goal on the last play of the game to win it. Today was Anthony Calvillo's fortieth birthday. With 436 TD passes, Calvillo moved ahead of Warren Moon to second place on the North American pro football list. Brett Favre is first with 508. Chris Williams tied Gizmo Williams' season record with five kicks returned for TD's. Remember that Chris W. had another that he goofed off on and was tackled at the one.

  9. Thanks Joe! I see how to stream them, but I don't see how to download. Did you mean stream, or am I missing something?
  10. Thanks for the tip, Joe. I'm very familiar with Pat Novak for Hire, but I've never gotten around to Pete Kelly's Blues.

  15. Do the math. Using the figures you posted, it's not. I can now give a definitive answer to this question. As stated above, allowing Amazon UK to convert from pounds to dollars would have cost me $4.86. I have been billed by my bank $2.55 for allowing it to convert. Therefore, I saved $2.31 by allowing my bank to convert the currency. The bank charged me 2% of the purchase price.

  17. Doug Ramsey in his blog links to this Washington Post obituary of Ellington and Mary Lou Williams archivist Annie Kuebler, which I think that many here will find interesting. http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/obituaries/annie-kuebler-jazz-archivist-who-survived-near-fatal-fire-dies-at-61/2012/08/18/1819a286-e960-11e1-a3d2-2a05679928ef_story.html
  18. This looks interesting. HALF NOTE ANNOUNCES A NEW RELEASE FROM LEE KONITZ ENFANTS TERRIBLES Featuring BILL FRISELL GARY PEACOCK JOEY BARON AVAILABLE IN STORES AND ONLINE SEPTEMBER 25, 2012 NEW YORK, August 20, 2012 - Enfants Terribles features four veteran jazz men whose collective efforts on stage and in the studio span decades. Together they are saxophonist Lee Konitz, guitarist Bill Frisell, bassist Gary Peacock and drummer Joey Baron. Individually, each boasts a distinguished career path and network of associations representing jazzʼs wide range of stylistic directions. (Konitz alone began professionally in 1945.) Recorded live at the Blue Note, Enfants Terribles finds the group surveying tunes well-known to the jazz community, standards played and re-imagined throughout the years - "Body & Soul," "I Canʼt Get Started," "What Is This Thing Called Love" and "Stella By Starlight," among others. Though the repertoire is familiar, the renderings are new, a function of the collaborative spirit and interplay among these particular musicians. Their union evinces a strong sense of togetherness - the sum effect of a four-way exchange shaping artful creation. RECORDED LIVE AT THE BLUE NOTE TRACKS 1. What Is This Thing Called Love 2. Body and Soul 3. Stella By Starlight 4. Iʼll Remember April 5. I Remember You 6. I Canʼt Get Started
  19. Scott McKenzie has died at age 73. RIP. I liked his voice more than I liked the song San Francisco. http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-scott-mckenzie-20120821,0,6246690.story
  20. Just a guess. Talulah Bankhead?
  21. RIP. She was one of my favorites. And as far as I know, all of her jokes were clean.
  22. Well, I didn't know the dollar amount until the bank posted it to my account online. I guess it's possible that the bank will later post a second figure for the conversion fee. I'll let you know if it does. My primary interest is in determining if my bank's fee is less than Amazon's.
  23. Thanks for your input so far! I see that we have 84 views, but only 5 votes. I hope that people are weighing their options before voting!
  24. RIP. Here's another. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2012/08/20/top-gun-director-tony-scott-dies-at-68/#ixzz243dRMOHh
  25. Jetman, I think that the bank's fee was included in the figure I quoted.
