  5. A good set at a good price, although I know that you are not a big fan of box sets. I would give Fantasy, Inc. a call -- I don't remember whether I found their number on their web site or whether I used DexOnline and searched for them in L.A. They came through for me with a couple of booklets in the past.
  6. Learned about this title in Grey's sale yesterday, but not quickly enough to pick it up from him! Any other copies out there for sale/trade? Thanks.
  7. IMHO, the Amos Milburn set is in the same vintage as the Charles Brown. It is amazing that it has been in print this long. Definitely worth looking into, especially since you are open to vinyl.
  8. I finally broke down after reading this thread and picked up the Parker set. I have only listened to part of the set so far, but I agree with the board members that the set is definitely worthwhile. Even the first two discs (which I assume have the worst audio quality and most abrupt cuts) are very enjoyable. In fact, I find that I do not miss the opening and closing riffs of those songs. Parker's solos are entire songs unto themselves, and more interesting IMHO than on the Royal Roost and Savoy/Dial recordings. Thanks for the push, guys!
  9. Meade Lux Lewis "Cat House Piano", Verve Elite Edition, FS/FT. Very good condition. $20 with shipping -- trades also considered. PM me if interested.
  10. Up for air. Trade offers also considered.
  11. I am planning to purchase some recording software for transferring vinyl recordings to CD. Any suggestions, preferably under $50? Thanks.
  12. Yes, there are new liner notes by Bob Blumenthal. The session photographs are also very nice.
  13. T-Bone Walker partial Mosaic set for sale. Purchased directly from Mosaic, i.e. it did not fall off the back of a truck. Price includes shipping to US addresses. Details: The Complete T-Bone Walker 1940-1954, discs 1, 3, 4 and 5. Discs 3-5 still sealed. Book included. $50. Please contact me at mharbur@umn.edu if interested. Thanks for looking.
  14. If memory serves I believe that this was my major in college. Yeah, a while back I was conducting an experiment in which I was growing weeds hydroponically...some people gave me strange looks when I explained that one.
  15. Two more Dizzy Reece titles added...
  16. Up, with Dizzy Reece titles added.
  17. I have volumes 1 and 2 of Dexter Gordon's "Nights at the Keystone", but V.3 has proved elusive. Can anyone help me? Thanks.
  18. I am wondering whether there is any advantage to purchasing the Jazz in Paris box set (75 cds) versus picking up the titles piecemeal. Does it come with any literature that the individual discs do not have?
  19. Up with changes. Doesn't anyone want the Sonic Boom TOCJ or the Port of Harlem CD?!?
  20. Up with additions...
