  7. This was included as a premium with purchase of a new Apple computer. My kids already have iPods, and I have no particular use for it. 169.00. Price includes insured shipping.
  8. Have your writing analyzed. I tried seven different samples and got one Mario Puzo, one Harry Harrison, and five David Foster Wallaces. I've never read anything by Wallace, but now I'm intrigued.
  9. A closed mind is a terrible thing to waste? Nonsense! "Goodspeak" is not wasting his closed mind. He is putting it to what I imagine he thinks is good use here at Organissimo, acting as unpaid apologist for the odious, steroid-fueled Bonds

  13. Some recent activity on the Red Allen reissue front-- This 2 CD set contains five different dates from the 1950s, two of them featuring Red. A 1955 band with a front line of Red, Tony Parenti on clarinet, and Tyree Glenn on trombone plays six warhorses and a blues. Two years later Glenn and Red return, joined by Buster Bailey on clarinet and Boomie Richman on tenor sax to play nine overly-familiar tunes, with Willie "the Lion" Smith hammering away in the rhythm section.
