  1. September 20: Steve Coleman, saxophone, 1947 Red Mitchell, bass, 1927
  2. IIRC, this is one of his oldies, from the early 80's and I agree with you that it can't be compared with the Smiley trilogy.
  3. Barbatov starts to show why sir Alex wanted him.
  4. Eh, it's only the first game of the season, relax a bit. :g Bolton 3, West Ham 1. I am relaxed. The problem is that West Ham's players are also relaxed. IIRC, their next games are Chelsea and Manchester United... 3rd game: Manchester United- West Ham 3:0. Nobody really expected West Ham to come back from Old Trafford with points in their pockets. Nest week: Man Un - Everton, West Ham - Chelsea. Four games and still no points to West Ham. I'll cross my fingers to West Ham and Mr. Grant. First point to the Hummers!!! Congrates!!!
  5. The music of Nino Rota:
  6. Chelsea 4 - Zilina 1. It's not really the same league. I'm glad Yossi had the opportunity to play.
  7. September 16: Charlie Byrd, guitar, 1925 Gordon Beck, piano, 1935 Hamiet Bluiett, baritone, 1940
  8. September 13: Alex Riel, drums, 1940 Leonard Feather, music journalist, 1914
  9. September 12: Brian Lynch, trumpet, 1956 Cat Anderson, trumpet, 1916

  11. And a very odd one in my view. I can't see it having a happy ending. Sorry, did I say it was going to end badly, it's actually started very badly. Gérard Houllier arrives at Aston Villa and leaves them in confusion I cant see any happy end to this saga.
  12. It was good idea to edit your post. If you have something interesting to contribute to the discussion, I'll be happy to learn from you.
  13. Congratulations Chuck and all the best to you and your family.
  14. September 11: Roosevelt (Baby Face) Willette, organ, 1933 Hiram Bullock, guitar, 1955 Stacy Rowles, trumpet, 1955
  15. I thought your mission has been completed.
  16. During the last few days I've been listening to Emil Gilels recordings on EMI (icon series) and his recordings with the Cleveland Orchestra under the conduction of George Szell are among the best I've heard.
  17. And a very odd one in my view. I can't see it having a happy ending. I also think that Martin O'Neill's shoes are too big for Houllier.
  18. Sam Rivers and Ellington sets??? I guess I've missed something. See here: Thanks bb. They offer the set for the same price but they charge lower price for the shippment.
  19. September 10: Dave Burrell, piano,1940 Prince Lasha, alto sax, flute & clarinet, 1929
  20. Gérard Houllier is back in the Premier League.
  21. Sam Rivers and Ellington sets??? I guess I've missed something.
  22. Some interesting titles on the list.
  23. September 8: Butch Warren, bass, 1939 James Clay, tenor saxophone, 1935
  24. September 7: Joe Newman, trumpet, 1922 Ken McIntyre, alto saxophone, flute, bass clarinet, oboe, bassoon, and many other woodwind instruments, 1931
  25. I really like this trio album. From time to time this trio remides me Marc Cary's trio and no wonder: Tarus Mateen & Nasheet Waits also played and recorded with Cary.
