  1. A tick? Only one tick? If I would have done it, with all new records and the used misgraded I bought, with the money of the shipping I could have had buy the USPS.
  2. Well, they are pretty contraversial over at the vinyl asylum, but I have six of them and love them all. I have received nothing but flat and (mostly) quiet pressings. Mind you, I am not the kind of guy that's going to return a record if there is one tick on one cut, but there are those that would. Life is too short, besides, if you want perfection, go get a CD. In any event, strongly recommended, though I wish that they weren't so friggin expensive, though certainly cheaper than an original. I'd buy them all if I could. . . My tought exactly.
  3. Incidentally, the winning bidder is a well known esnipe artist from the rising sun country. He usually spents tons of $$$$ on ebay each week. He was probably one of the heaviest bidder of recordsforall.... Did you hear from him in action against Moneyfornothing ? Probably not. Did he left negative ? Probably not. Our scam artist would not exist without those naive and compulsive Japanese millionaires and their Ebay Blue Note frenzy. If I would be a japanese millionaire robbered by an ebay member, I would rent four yakuza's guys to get my money back directly from him, or sent my lawyers directly to ebay headquarters in US. Or maybe, a real millionaire would make an estimate of wich option would be the cheapest for him: lost the money, Yakuza or Lawyers. That's why I am not a millionaire.
  4. I bought only once from PJC. Three or four ECM albums. I payed all of them, but I received a parcel without one record. After my first complain about it, I got a mail back that stated that they will look into it. Never got any more answers from them. I lost 10 euros, they lost a customer. One of the few bad experience in my very short history of collector.
  5. It seems that on-line frauds have reached the records collectors's land. After phoney M.A. of phoney University, Fake Rolex, Junk stocks and bonds and tons of Viagra.
  6. This would be my real first good business in records collecting: my Horo's realease. Funny enough if you think I bought most of them used and nm for 5/10 euros. I wish i bought more of them.
  7. The criticism is valid, and on pages 1-3 it was totally warranted.....but it gets a bit "told you so" by the time you arrive at page 6 and have already read my own self-criticisms. Pay pal USA are now saying that they can't retrieve the money from Recordsfornoone's account , announcing that they have "taken action against him". I just hope that this isn't short hand for "Put on a shelf and gradually forget about it" ALL the criteria for pay pal protetion were satisfied by the auctions (not less than 98% positive feedback at the time of the auction, from an accepted pay pal member country which Italy is, brandishing the pay pal protection sign, verified pay pal seller, etc, etc). The presence of pay pal protection was one of the factors that contributed to my decision to bid and pay. There's going to be an almighty scandal if they don't hold their word. If pay pay put their protection stamp onto auctions, obvious scam or not, they must be then follow it through to the end. Otherwise Pay Pal buyer protection means nothing at all - and this is what people will read about in blogs like this and hopefuly in print too, if they do nothing about it. Another factor why I paid is because I had previously filed a claim via paypal and was refunded rapidly with no questions asked - that time there was alot less $ at stake - but this time around the fraud is much clearer. Money talks - and they said it - "insured up to 2000$" just because they can't get the money from his account doesn't seem to mean they would not compensate victims as they promise. did they say that? If so my recommendation is to contact all other victims of this fraud possibly thru jazzguy 43 who has info related to emails and then get a lawyer to act on everyones behalf on payPals case. and ebay ... they will change their tune real fast. I also recommend using a credit card to pay Paypal for an extra layer of protection. when some crook tried to rip me off on ebay , I filed a claim with the credit card company I used to pay BidPay in this case. they reversed the charges. then whey Bidpay came after me, whose logo appeared on all the sellers ebay listings, I told them I would see them in court. I never heard from them again. Good suggestion. A legal action against them is exactly that kind of exposure all these cyber-tycoons of the cyberspace/cybercapitalism/cybertrade wish to avoid. They always tend to give an image of ultra modern liberal selfmademen, more interested in improving our life then their bank account. When the goin' gets tough, the tough get goin'
  8. Lambrusco with lobster tails? Over here you should have been crucified in the center of Colosseum for it. You better ask Weizy for a wine.
  9. Did it come with the Richard Avedon portraits of the Fab Four? Otherwise it's worth nothing Claro que si, and the black inner sleeves and the lyrics sheet.
  10. Yep, thanks. Earlier today I put in an order for it at my favourite Classic Records outlet ! £25 sounds AOK I got it, and sounds ok to my ears, and to my wallet.
  11. I solved my depression problem. Just received a mint copy of Beatles' White Album. Mono UK pressing, #0005734. It costed me a fortune, but surely it's cheaper then three years of psychoanalysis.
  12. You may add that Disco is against my religious principles, the only good thing of it was the fact that you could find a lot of girls in one place and you didn't need to talk to them before... Yeah, I know I was a bit sexist at those times, but what do you expect from a fourteen y.o. boy that just discovered sex?
  13. Yeah, but even a number of jazz artists made that disco mistep. Can't kick 'em all out of bed just for that. Why can't kick them in the ass for that? I think it's a great idea, instead.
  14. No. Their claim of first pressing is a bit tricky, they should have pressed millions copies of this. So if you don't open it and check the stampers, who knows? The album was reissued by Motown in 1981, from its original realese up to this date Tamla label didn't changed AFIK. Maybe the thick gatefold is an evidence, but i am not sure. I thought I could have a nm original first edition Tamla for less then 50 bucks. At the same times with album like this, the probability you got a wear groove record are usually high. So if you really want a perfect original Tamla pressing...
  15. This is not a Lexington pressing, or a Colossus and I am looking for a near mint copy of it...but... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...p;rd=1&rd=1
  16. Maybe one of Chewy's Phil Collins cassette tapes, Oh wait your already depressed... Does it exists in your country the crime of suicide's instigating? I could sue for it.
  17. And what about if you're so depressed that you don't have the strenght to choose a vinyl? Any record' suggestions?
  18. People are strange when you're a stranger...
  19. "Time takes a cigarette, puts it in your mouth You pull on your finger, then another finger, then your cigarette The wall-to-wall is calling, it lingers, then you forget Ohhh how how how, youre a rock n roll suicide"
  20. Yeah, it's all over the place. I had to rifle through about seven copies just to grab a JVC copy of The Bridge yesterday... Yeah, the poor Sonny should have became rich if he had kept all those promo copies, instead of gave them to his friend at times.
  21. If he will follow this way he will be the next Franch Football Golden Butthead
  22. No shame about it. The strange things about this collection were: 1) Nobody in Rome knows about it, and I can assure you that Rome, even with more then 3 millions people, is a small community of records collectors. 2) I use to work for RAI, italian national broadcasting, as free lance and I am a well known record collector, the previous owner of the collection was a employed of RAI, and I didn't know about him. 3) No answer of my mail. All this was pretty strange.
  23. Or holding marriage until good sex.
  24. K1969, I am sorry for your problems, but I warned the people here. Maybe too late. Hope you'll get your money back.
