Met him in Paris once. A very fine human being with impeccable taste and knowledge in music. Still have a book about Charlie Parker he gave to me as presents. He wasn’t less then a gentleman in everything he posted on bnbb and organissimo and we all know how much could easy to pass the line of a respectful discussion. A true loss. He will not forgotten by me. RIP.

Italian Postal Service has just announced that they will not ship small parcels to US. For sure one can ship FedEx and UPS, usually more expensive then Italian Post.

The Prestige/Riverside/Milestone twofers were my introduction to jazz back in the late seventies/early eighties. Two records for price of a single album. Most of that albums were OOP or simply impossible to get in the domestic market in Italy. Imports only. The BN catalog was poor, so the Impulse’s. The only Italian pressings widely available were the CBS/Columbia. It’s all there in the Mingus’ Debut box set, with and without overdubbing.
