  5. Same here, but I didn't change my opinion, I liked them from the first listening.
  6. I'm jealous! Dedicated mono mix or collapse of stereo mix? I suspect a collapse, though I am not sure, I didn't find any info about it. Anyway, if it's a fold down, it's a great job. Excellent sound.
  7. Donovan - A GIFT FROM A FLOWER TO A GARDEN - Pye, mono.
  8. Sonny Rollins - FREEDOM SUITE - Milestone, mono, japanese pressing.
  9. Tom Waits - FOREIGN AFFAIRS - Asylum.
  10. The Who - WHO'S NEXT? - Track Frank Zappa - TINSELTOWN REBELLION - Barking Pumpkin Records

  13. That's one on my wish list! And a tricky one to get a good copy of. Lots of copies with breakfast fry-up hiss ! The very first editions with the large DG have no hiss. The later, with narrow DG have sometimes. The last with no DG at all, has the hiss. Correct, in my experience with New Jazz pressing, this is pretty common. Usually large DG's sound much better then later pressings. All the noise you hear is the degradation of the metalwork. Thanks for the explanation! Do you mean that at NJ they used and reused the very same plate?

  15. That's one on my wish list!
  16. The Who - QUADROPHENIA - Track.
  17. NIGHT-GLO was too laid-back, after that I sank into James Taylor - JAMES TAYLOR (Apple) and SWEET BABY JAMES (WB) I had to spin The Who - QUADROPHENIA (Track) in order to breath again.
  18. Funny, it's my next listening.
  19. Always liked that one, with it's laid-back groove. Indeed, even Steve Swallow is ok in the contest. BTW never liked too much Steve Swallow' solo records.
  20. Carla Bley - THE VERY BIG CARLA BLEY BAND - Watt.
  21. Carla Bley - HEAVY HEART - Watt.
  22. Anyway, the best recipe for preserve vinyl is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mummy and this is the most famous record's collector of his age
  23. I was thinking the same thing. Before you worry too much about the condition of the box or its shrink wrap, break the seal and listen to the damn records! If they sound good, then you can worry about protecting the vinyl. Word.
  24. Pentangle - BASKET OF LIGHT - Transatlantic.
