  1. I have to say that VHS is/was a far better format into professional field, rather then DVD. VHS is/was a quick, cheap (and rewritable) tool for directors/producers/musicians/editors for work in progress. When I am into a work, like editing a 50 minutes documentary, I can do a rough copies of it on the fly and it's quicker then all those 'formatting' and 'finalizing', etc of DVD. Now I do dozens of DVDs for whoever is involved into the project, that after a couple of views are just useless pieces of plastic to dump. But yeah, now everybodys want a DVD, even if I am working at the lowest definition, as usual with big projects.
  2. Dang!!! THE GRAND WAZOO!!! I could forget it!
  3. I'd add to Dave Garrett's suggestions: Bongo's Fury, Zappa in New York, The Best Band You Never Heard in Your Life, Make a Jazz Noise Here, BUT ABOVE ALL Roxy & Elsewhere You deserve it and you'll love it.
  4. Interesting. Thanks! The McCartney's article worth a reading too http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol...icle5188290.ece

  11. Actually I have two chinese rice papers in frames in my dining room, I recently discovered that are something like 'good luck and wealthy and long life...to the host...the house...the guest, etc.' Before knowing it I speculated with my wife about the meaning, it was more fun then 'good luck to the house'.
  12. Happy Birthday, Z.!
  13. Thanks! Now, 'bout that Gustav, I have only the first three symphonies and the last two, I am missing something I guess.

  16. Neil Young - HARVEST - Reprise Neil Young - RUST NEVER SLEEPS - Reprise Sometimes I think I am dumb 'rock guy', expecially when I spin Neil Young's records after some Mahler's symphonies.
  17. Yeah, Dolby HX Pro was much better at those analogue time.
  18. Alexandre Dumas: The Count Of Mount Cristo. IMHO an understimated work. It has everything matters: love, hate, revenge, good and God, fate, etc.. like a greek tragedy.
  19. I have to tell you guys: you're definitely obsolete. http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=l_CaxYF56jY
  20. No experience with this particular model, but as studio monitors JBLs are a bit too fat on midbass/bass frequencies, as Tannoys are too prominent in mids frequencies, so keep this in mind when you mix/eq music, it's a common mistake cutting too much bass on JBL and too much mids on Tannoy. I would use the JBL in the home system. IMHO. Talkin about 'near field' monitor, obviously.
  21. About the topic I would add Davy Graham, who covered lot's of jazz tune in his playing, and he could really 'swing'.
  22. Wow, that's really sad, one of my favourite guitarist ever. His early Decca's records are pure masterpieces. He didn't record enough. RIP and thanks for the music. Mr. Graham.
  23. GREGORIAN CHANTS FROM ASSISI- DG, stereo. Interesting, but please, at my funeral play some James Brown like 'I feel good' or 'Sexmachine'.
  24. Mahler - Symphony 9 - Solti/LSO Decca, stereo.
  25. A perfect chilled italian Chardonnay, and I shouldn't. Who cares? I am going to spin a Tom Waits' record.
