  1. Hopefully before Jon anderson was fired.
  2. Wow. What a loss. I saw him in the early 80s I think. RIP Paco.

  7. Do I need to give some hints?
  8. Bingo! JIPPIE! I really love this track, I'll have to look into the whole album. I have another album of Barney Kessel, the one he did with Julie London, called "Julie is her name". Ray Leatherwood is on bass on that one. I've used some transcriptions of it. Real lovely guitarplaying by Barney Kessel there too. This is a different recording, not the one you mentioned. Ah, then is it the one at the album: Great Guitars at the Winery - 1980 ? Here's the story on this one. This is from a radio master. Recorded in Köln, Germany at the Subway Jazz Club, 1981-11-03. This has never been released officially.

  10. Bingo!
  11. Happy Birthday Mike.
  12. I've seen Randy Weston 25 times in the past 15 years. Next I've seen Lee Konitz and Jimmy Heath 20 times. Sonny Rollins 15 times. Mulgrew Miller I was able to see live 10 times before he departed. Renee Rosnes also 10 times. Cecil Taylor 9 times. Who have others here seen several times?
  13. Happy Birthday.
  14. February 17, 1982, Thelonious Monk died. I remember where I was. I was in a music theory class. My first semester of college. Where were you?
  15. Happy Birthday, Joe.
  16. Elin Nordegren Holly Sampson Lindsey Vonn
  17. Now that I am home I was able to watch the clip on youtube. Dexter is playing so lovely, and so is Kenny Drew and the band. The 70s is my favorite Dexter period. I can't wait till I get to hear all of the music from this film.
  18. How many CDs/Records do jazz artists sell? While reading Jimmy Heath's autobiography, he said in the late 70 and 80s, the Heath Brothers releases on Columbia sold between 40 and 60 thousand per release. To me that is a very high number for a jazz musician or group. Maybe Miles Davis is the only other I could think would have sales that high.
  19. That's the one. I am told when the band plays the sex stops. Funny
  20. A friend offered to send me a copy of a porno where Dexter Gordon and his band are playing the music. Does anyone know more about this?
  21. Mr. Sunshine Miss Daisy Daisy Duke
  22. Sorry, Jeff, it's a sad loss, but what a rewarding job your wife does.
