  3. Thanks for the thought. If it was my own music it might be a possibility. But Horace's publishing company would deserve a mechanical royalty, the musicians would need to be all in agreement on compensation, the recording would have to be CD release quality, etc. etc. Then again if Blue Note wants to record us.... In the meantime you can always buy one of my previous releases! Bluenote or some record company should record this band. You guys were smoking.

  5. Michael - Any chance this music was recorded? Any chance you might want to offer CD-Rs of this recording for sale? Other people are doing it and it seems to be a pretty good way to make a few bucks. I'd buy it. Count me in. I would buy a copy.

  15. For me, "People Time" is my favorite Stan Getz recording. I believe it is or nearly his last recording. "First Song" puts chills through me whenever I hear it. Stan's playing on that tune transcends beyond and above humanly barriers. Kenny Barron and Stan played so wonderfully together throughout their history, but this recording was perfection. Every tune just gives me the sense of, "I'm leaving, and here is my goodbye.” There is 5 days worth of recordings from the Jazzhus Montmartre from which “People Time” was assembled; I hope some record company can get the other masters and release those. I have a poor audio copy of those other tunes and would eagerly go and get them if propperly produced. If anyone hasn't heard "People Time", you've been missing of the greatest jazz recordings of all time.

  20. How many believed from the beginning that this board would have the longevity it has to date? It has to take quite some time to maintain and monitor the activities that go on daily. But then again, it is so much apart of the band's image that it will remain a vidal part of the jazz community. Outside of the Amazon.com and the CD Universe, has there erver been any other thoughts on sponsors?
