Looking at some of the old threads and I came across a number of threads started by Unregistered users. How is this done?

Wow, 15 members have collections over 5000. How many of them are over 7500 or 10000 I wonder? I did this poll because I am finding it hard to listen to what I have, and that is about 3500 CD's and LP's. How do those with over 5000 give their collection a fair listen?

The results of the poll. 1501 to 2500 seems to the largest.

I agree. It's just music and listen to it that way. But it's very different. My wife only let's me listen to it when she's not around.

And on a similar note, I remember reading once, Demond Wilson (Lamont Sanford), was in the running in the early 80’s to play the role of Charlie Parker in the movie, "Bird". I think he would have done a good job.

He was such a great composer. He's been gone for 10 years already. One of all time favorite tunes is by him, "Quiet Nights".

Does anyone know if "The Real Thing" ever made it to disc? I am more interested in it for Grant Green, but I do enjoy Person's playing. There is also an album by various artists called "Together - The Eastbound Jazz Years". Person and Green do "Lester Leaps in". I would love get a listen to as well.

So in the end, those rejected tunes are not apart of the Mosaic set?

That would make sense, but none of the other Mosaic as far as I know list the rejected tunes or takes.

I don't have this set, since I had all the sessions on CD already. My question is, the Mosaic web site lists the discography. It includes some rejected tunes, such as "Time On My Hands" "It's only a pepper Moon" from "The Time is Right", plus others from different sessions. Wasn't it the policy of Michael Cuscuna and Blue Note not to released tunes or takes that Alfred Lion marked as rejected? I'm wondering how these rejected tunes amd takes made it to the Mosaic.

Those are the players I have listed on the recording. Supposedly Charlie Christian showed up as well. But I could never hear him on the recording, so I can't confirm him being there. He would have soloed at some point I would think. It is a private recording someone traded with me.

Anyone have the answer to this? I have a live recording from Minton’s Playhouse 5/12/41. It claims to be the first recording of Monk. Sound is pretty awful, but it's Monk.

What style of music would you put him in? I have just 1 recording by him, the self titled album "Moondog" on CBS. I'm not sure if I understand what he was trying to do. He's a bit too way out there for my taste.

We're starting a fantasy league at my office. There are to free fantasy baseball web sites that I've found, yahoo and Fox sports. Anyone played either one before? What’s the difference?
