  1. Giants halt Zimmerman's hitting streak at 30....but still manage to lose. Grrrr
  2. Yes but The Orioles owned the rights to D.C, the Nationals were able to pay the Orioles for the privilege of moving into those rights. Bud and Wolfe are pretty tight and since the owners have made so much money from him I can see SJ getting approved. The thing that sucks is that Wolfe doesn't care about Baseball he cares about real estate development. The majority owners are the Fishers that own the GAP so they have money. Back in late 80's the A's would draw 3 million, back in 2000-2003 they were middle of the pack. Back when the Giants played at the Stick it was easier to go to A's games because you could just walk to a Bart station and get there where public transpo to the Stick was dicey at best because it would go through the worst neighborhoods (back then) in the City. I usually took the Express [that doulble long bus] from the Market Street near the BART/Underground Muni exit because it went down the 101 and was fairly quick, but it I get your point. It would be cool if the A's could do a SJ stadium...it would be a snap for me to get to the game then back on the 101 South to get home. But even now, I just park at the Fremont BART and go to the stadium that way. No big thing, really. Personally, I think the only fly in the ointment is the Giants have a Single-A affiliate playing there. It could pose a problem.
  3. They are sort of trying, the Fremont stadium feel through (which is good, bad location, no public transpo and it would have been for corporate fans only), I doubt Oakland and the owners will be able to work something out as the owners want the county to fund everything and California is broke. So that leaves San Jose but the economy isn't so great right now for corporate money as it was when they first pursued San Jose. People float the idea of them moving to Portland Oregon or Las Vegas or maybe North Carolina but I don't see it. Someone needs to tell Bud that even though Pirates have a wonderful new stadium they still draw less than the A's. Best plan would be for the Raiders to leave (they are always blacked out for home games as is) and redo the existing coliseum and give it a face life like the Angels and Royals have done. That may be long term, WB3...the Raiders are still a big draw for the City of Oakland. I'd say San Jose has possiblities, but don't the Giants own the MLB rights to that part of the Bay?
  4. They are absolute dog shit. The tin foil hat person in my thinks there are doing it on purpose so attendance can get worst and they can go to Bud and say there is no way we can compete in this market and stadium. The owner cares more about selling the team and making a profit then having a winner. Its an odd thing to deal with because as much as I want to support my team I don't want to give a one f-ing red cent to the ownership. Is the pitching the issue or the hitting? I only catch the odd game or two now and again, but it's not like they're getting blown out every game. It just seems strange for a team that is usually in the hunt in the AL West.
  5. So...what's going on with the Oakland A's this year? Like they can't even buy a win. Wow.
  6. Is there really "no" evidence Bonds did? None. The government's got nothing on Bonds and they know it. You are an absolute fucking fool and every single person who reads this thread or the steroid thread has reached the exact same conclusion. And anyone who deludes themselves into believing Manny wasn't juicing when he was with the BoSox is, and I quoute you, [is] "an absolute fucking fool". 50 games, Dan. 50. Read it and weep. Manny is dirty and got caught. Bonds wasn't and never spent ONE day on suspension. The BoSox need to give back those WS rings. You remain a contemptible joke. 50 DODGER games doesn't mean a damn thing to me. He NEVER tested positive while with the Red Sox; its a team game and team accomplishments, unless effected by steroid use by most or all of the members, are not remotely effected by steroid accusations that have no basis in any evidence whatsoever. Now do we really have to talk about the evidence for Bonds? BALCO - every client received steroids and used them. Greg Anderson - every client received steroids and used them. Doping calendar - Bonds initials on it; cities and dates matched the Giants schedule; identical calendars prepared for and used by other steroid cheats. Test results - multiple tests ordered by BALCO show that Bonds used steroids. Enhanced techniques applied to an MLB sponsored test gave a positive result for Bonds' sample. Performance after 1998 - Bonds transformed from a modest slugger to a historic one at a time that every other player in history has declined. You may think he's just a great player, everybody else who isn't a Giants fan knows the implications of Bonds' feat and knows the reality of his steroid use. If Anderson refuses to testify at trial about the urine samples, doping calendars, etc., it is relevant only to the legal question of whether Bonds committed perjury when he denied knowingly using steroids. It is completely irrelevant to the question of whether Bonds used steroids. The evidence exists, it is unmistakable, and no one with a brain would look at the MOUNTAIN of evidence of Bonds' use and assert that there is "nothing" on Bonds. Yeah? Prove it. The MLB seems to see it differently, Big Boy. Don't waste my time.

  8. Then I think we're back to Ohio Players, Boyz. Oooo...hurt me.
  9. I'm addicted to Jazz, Blues and Reggae. The P-Funk rocks me....Ohio Players, ConFunkShun and Tower of Power do, too. Bump, de, bump, de, bump....Bump City!

  11. Might as well face it... "Might as well face it you're addicted to love" -Robert Palmer
  12. And the Dodgers have lost 2 straight ! And the Giants have beaten the Dodgers two out of three, at home, in LaLa Land. No Manny, no wins, no nothing. Dodgers suck without him....it is a one man team. Pssh.
  13. Is there really "no" evidence Bonds did? There's pretty clear evidence, unless you live in the San Francisco Bay Area. The difference I see between Bonds and someone like Manny is that Bond's asterisks belong next to his individual records, and rightfully so. Assuming Ramirez was juicing while in Boston, then the records that Goodspeak is arguing should be asterisked are team records. It's more difficult in my mind to paint the whole team with a brush stroke that may (MAY) be deserved for one player. Any of Ramirez', Clemen's, and A-Roid's individual records should have asterisks. I'm not sure how to deal with team accomplishments when there is a juicing player on the team. It is only "clear evidence" if you live in Texas and blindly accept everything the biased sporting media feeds you. Bovine blindly accept everything too, Aggie. Mooooo. BTW...let the record show Barry Bonds never got a suspension in his entire career. Manny Ramirez got 50 games. Give back the WS rings, BoSox.

  15. My knees are shot. He'd beat me like a drum. I sure hope so. Nobody scores inside on Obama.
  16. I don't think their championships are tainted, but there is no way in hell Manny wasn't cycling roids with the Red Sox. Just as I don't think Bonds, A-Rod, Clemmens ect should have a fucking * on their records because way more people were doing them then we think therefore it was a even playing field. I only said that to bring up the stupidity of the media and fans who wanted the * in the past. There is 4 ways to look at it. 1. Probably the most healthy way is who cares, its entertainment. 2. Mine, I don't like it but I get it. If 40% more college eligible kids are trying to break into pro sports then in the 70's then DUH they will do anything they can to get an edge to be part of the that 1% and keep doing it once there in.* Since its impossible to clarify eras anyway the sanctity of the records are overrated. I never thought I would say this but Jose Canseco is looking smarter everyday. 3. Screw em all Im done. 4. Your way which is only selected players that have already been pointed out have done them and need to be punished to the full extent of the law and all of my guys are clean is hypocritical in my opinion. * I bet there was poll in america right now that asked would you take an illegal drug to get paid like a CEO I am guessing it would be close to a 90% yes. There's another way to look at it. I keep saying it. Look at the evidence. When you say there is "no way in hell Manny wasn't cycling roids with the Red Sox," where's the evidence that he was? (btw, does MLB keep samples?) It's an assumption that you just can't make, I don't think. Particularly since this is the first test he's failed out of X-number that he's taken. The evidence is clearly that he didn't cycle roids while with the BoSox. And there is no evidence Bonds did either. Speculation is all anyone has proven and if the media, HOF, and MLB let ManRam and the BoSox off the hook then this MLB drug testing program is just a biased piece of garbage.

Exactly.
  18. But there's no evidence that he was taking anything while with the BoSox. You gotta have the evidence first. You can suspect all you want, but I don't think you can start throwing asterisks around or calling for forfeits without evidence from his playing days in Boston. Whether or not forfeits are warranted is another question. Gotta start there with the Dodgers, though. IMHO That was and has been my argument about Bonds' HR record. Seems to me if we are going to asterisk Bonds' record, then we need to apply the very same criterion to every suspected steroids user. To do anything less is hypocrisy. Speculation is still ust that. Manny cannot claim the high ground anymore and neiher can the BoSox.
  19. I'm making that claim, Danny Bouy. The drug ManRam takes is one that is used to mask the use of steroids. And have you noticed how big his head is these days? Let's see how you react now that the proverbial Bonds steroids bullshit is smeared on your team, eh? Manny is a cheater, Dan. Your BoSox should forfeit those WS rings. Prove me wrong.
  20. Dang. Then I just lost a bet on how long Manny would last; I said until the All Star break. sheesh
  21. Don't count the Padres out just yet. But you're right, the Giants are in desperate need of a bona fide #4 holer so the guys batting in front or behind him will see better pitches.
  22. I just posted about this last week.... Like a Pirates game in a rainstorm. Now that's funny
  23. $1200 bucks for ONE seat...? Gaaa! Makes me wonder what the Bleacher Creatures must pay to get in the place. OTOH, Dodger Stadium is a way old ballpark and their fans never show up either. It was a ghost town during the Giants/Dodgers rivalry games in LaLa Land. Pretty amazing.
  24. Good News: The Giants are hitting the ball and getting quality starts from the starters; Still in 2nd place playing .500 ball. Bad News: They strand more runners and blow more scoring oppotunities than anybody in the league. Grrrrr
  25. I'll take that bet and give you the point spread
