Man, last night Feliz came up w/ the bases loaded and swung at the first pitch and popped up. Rally over. Phils lose 1-0. Mind you this was against the same pitcher who lost the game today by throwing 4 straight balls w/ the bases loaded. Welcome to my nightmare of the past several years. Feliz is a great glove man....but he just plain doesn't know diddly squat about hitting. I feel your pain, JH. Trust me. I think in a real lineup like the Phillies have he will be fine. But I would recommend pitch hitting for him in the later innings if the game is on the line. Long as you guys have a good bench, you bet. Giants never did.

Sure....but how? Go to the first post in the thread. Click "edit". That will bring up both the post itself and the thread title/subtitle. Change accordingly and click "complete edit" or whichever the choice is. Done and done. Thanks, Dan. No, the Department of Redundancy Department thanks you. Glad to be of some service.

Just a point of reference: There was no such thing as disposable blades back then.

BTW...Giants did manage to avoid a sweep and beat the [hated] Dodgers 2-1 in last night's rain delay game. May be all we can root for this season: Hey! We avoided the sweep! Yippie!!!! Grrrrr

Reminds me of a poll I thought about doing: Who will lose the most number of games this season? The Giants The Pirates The Orioles The Marlins My money is on the Giants, who are likely to be terrible for many years to come, regardless of how their young starters do. Sad, but true. I think the Giants should have traded Lincecum for Rios of the Blue Jays, or perhaps they should have traded him for Adam Jones if they could have gotten him....He's got great stuff, but I don't know if he can hold up. Cain has a Clemens type build and should be around for a long time. Yeah, you win with pitching...but, when you lose Bonds, and Pedro Feliz, and only add Aaron Rowand...you are going to have problems. Maybe the Angels will get desperate, and give several of their prospects for Lincecum....one day they will actually trade their surplus! I'll throw you a bone GS. Last year, the Nationals were thought to be a team that could lose 120 games, and ended up 73-89 Thanks, Berigan. But Lincecum is just about the only reason to go to the ballpark these daze. Pedro "Always swings at the first pitch" Feliz is no loss. He blew more rallies and lost more games at the plate then I care to remember. Bonds was done anyway....bad knees and inability to run after flyballs and he couldn't go a full schedual anyway. I get your point though, Rowand is not much of an improvement at the plate. Besides, when did 33 become "old" ?

Electric or manuel? Manuel here. Never liked the stubble and "ouch factor" of electric razors when they yank out a whisker. When they get dull, it is comparable to a facial massage. Nah...gimme a double blade and some shaving cream. I want it done right.

First the good news: The Giants actually scored two whole runs last night and Cain pitched a great game; 6 IP, 3H, 0 Runs. Now the bad news: The Giants bullpen. Nuff said?

OK...here ya go: NL Mets Cubbies D-Backs WC- Pads or Rocks, but the wildcard is coming out of the NL West again this year [Giants may surprise...Dodgers will tank in August] AL BoSox Tigers Angels WC- Tribe

I got $20 bucks sez you're wrong. NL West will once again be the most competitive Division in baseball. Giants may not win it all, but they'll be in the mix. And you can bet the ranch on it. Hope your right, hard to do a youth movement when the youth aside from starting pitching doesn't have any talent. Oh, I think there is a fair amount of talent amongst the veterans to make a better than .500 ballclub out of the Giants this year. Although, I don't hold out any hope for a championship of any kind. My 2008 Mantra: Finish ahead of the Dodgers. Anything better will be welcomed, but most unexpected.

I dunno. Sure, it's no place for calorie counters, but still pretty good eats and the 50s style breakfast can't be beat, IMHO. -
San Francisco's Home Opener: Monday 3/31 @ 1:10PM; Giants vs [the hated] Dodgers. ESPN coverage, too

The Cow Hollow area of SF on and around Stiener and Lombard affords some very nice motels. Mel's Diner is across the street from Cow Hollow Motel....just to the North and East of UCSF Medical Center. A very nice motel, IMHO. Surface transit is in easy reach from there, as well. The Muni guys are usually pretty good about telling you which bus to transfer to in order to get to your desination. Lots of great walking routes [the Marina District, Fort Mason and the Presidio to name a couple] around there, too. Several cool bistros and shops to explore on Chestnut. Good news is the motel has a garage for residents, in case you should want to drive to the Med Center. Also, I am very sorry to learn of your wife's condition as well. I wish you and your wife the very best.
