  1. I agree, and I also miss the enthusiasm that reading those sorts of pieces created in me. That's just not to be found (or at least it's rarely found) today.
  2. Gordy Howe Dr. Who David S. Ware
  3. The Coleman Hawkins Album Vol. 2 (Trio Japan) Could only find an image for Vol. 1, but I listened to that fairly recently too.

  9. Haven't listened to any Prince Buster in quite a while. I'll have to rectify that.
  10. I was playing this very edition yesterday. Love it. Dont have that record, but the Japanese Candid LPs I have are the best sounding Candids I know (don't have any Candid originals, unflortunately) and the pressings are great, obviously.
  11. Chris Botti Michael Bolton Kenny G
  12. Kenny Drew: This Is New (Riverside Japan) Amazing to hear Wilbur Ware drive the band on "It's You or No One". If I were making a compilation of the best Wilbur Ware recordings, this would be on it.
  13. If you already have a couple of OJCs, just order some of the OJCs you think you might want. Most are still in print for reasonable prices on Amazon. Unless you want to be a McLean completist, this will probably be cheaper than going for the box. If you decide to be a completist at some point, you can always go the Japanese route in the future.
  14. Willis Jackson: Bar Wars (Muse) - Wonderful record with fine playing by all, including Idris Muhammad.
  15. Art Farmer Quartet (and these guys were a true quartet): Interaction (Atlantic Japan)
  16. Yes, wonderful! and great photograph by Ray Avery ! The LPs are fine, but I recall some of the alternate takes on the CDs sounding pretty bad - or at least not close to the issued takes. One of my local brick-and-mortar stores stocks the CDs. I look at them every time I go in, wondering if I should "trade up." But the LPs seem so perfect as is that I've always resisted. I have the CDs, but I've kept the LPs and listen them more than the CDs.
