  2. The cover has become iconic. One of Braxton's best albums?
  3. Anthony Braxton: 3 Compositions of New Jazz. Delmark LP. I listened to this without my Braxton glasses
  4. He had been admonished many times, has agreed to never do it again at least once, and has not AFAIK been threatened with banishment until now. (Banishing someone, you should know, is not something I can do myself; that's Jim's decision.) As for 'the policing of this rule being inconsistent," the moderators, despite what you may think, are human beings who have lives to live outside the boundaries of Organissimo, and thus we can't monitor every damn thing on a board that is brimful of posts everyday. We go on what we see ourselves and also rely on the reports/complaints of board members. Speaking for myself, the latter is the case at least half the time. Speaking for myself again, each of Aloc's missteps (or what you will) is like having a toy poodle drop his little craplets on your lawn twice a week while its master stands to one side, either lost in space or with a sly grin on his face (who can say?) It's not the biggest crime in the universe by far, but if you've been enough of a fool to accept the moderator role, it make you wonder what the f--- you're doing and why the f--- you even bother. Welcome to 2012, I guess. Just thinking that maybe there should be a step between warnings and banishment. Maybe first warning, then 30 days suspension, 2nd infraction 90 days, 3rd banishment. Not sure if this can be done. Odd to be discussing board policy on a topless waitress thread

Do you have a line on those cardigans too? I need to get in the mode.

  9. Maxwell and his Golden Hammer Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Billy Bang
  10. I should hope so. However, if it were not someone with your avatar and handle, one could also assume you were talking about Konitz. I understand what Delightfulee is saying, as I have been following the same trajectory myself, staring with all things Lee Morgan,, then--and I thank Lee Morgan for opening the vistas-- moving further out, eventually getting deep into New Thing music, finally this year actually "dusting off" those hard bop recordings and bringing them back into rotation. I can't say with the same infatuation, but certainly with listening pleasure.
  11. May I say, another great, indeed, flawless, album?
  12. V.I. Lenin Trotsky Putin
  13. Adam Rudolph Mr. Rudolph Reindeer Rudolph Van Gelder
  14. Solzhenitsyn Henny Youngman Larry Young
  15. Miss Vicki Vicki Vale Jerry Vale
  16. Another album I consider flawless. No, my personal list of such albums is not very long, but ASTRAL WEEKS is certainly on it. I've had the album since its release in 1968. Recently, I sprung for the Kevin Gray mastered 180 gram reissue pressed by RTI, which I am listening to now. Sounds great to my ears.
  17. Trixie Belden BoB Belden Belle Starr
  18. John Candy Candy Darling Harry Sweets Edison
  19. GIANT STEPS. John Coltrane. Atlantic. One of those great albums that are all of a piece and consistency, with all the component parts superb, forming one coherent whole. Is "flawless" too strong a word? I think not here.
  20. Toni Morrison Jim Morrison George Steven "Admiral" Morrison
  21. Apollo Ohno Phoebus Apollo Phoebie Snow
  22. That's fantastic! Congratulations and best of luck to you, mom and child.
  23. Starting 2012 with some cosmic influences:
  24. Eric Hoffer Jimmy Hoffa Moppa Eliot
