Jim R Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 As some of you may have noticed, veteran jazz and brazilian guitarist Joe Carter has become a member here. Before falling in love with and devoting his full attention to the music of Brazil, Joe made a name for himself in jazz, recoring in the 1980's on his own Empathy label with the likes of Lee Konitz, Art Farmer, and Rufus Reid, among others. A brief (inadequate) bio/discography can be seen at AMG: Joe Carter page. Pay no attention to the "electric Chicago blues" label under the "styles" category for a few of Joe's individual recording listings. That's another Joe Carter. I posted a link to Joe's Brazilian Jazz page in the "Hard Bossa" thread I started recently. Joe's homepage at Jazz Corner is located here. Welcome, Joe. Now we have a legit Brazilian music authority among us. B) Quote

Man with the Golden Arm Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 Yes, welcome Joe! I've been perusing the 'Hard Bossa' thread at length all while blasphemously listening to Arto Lindsay's Brasiliaisms with abandoned regularity this week. The tag team of Pete and JimR have another to help bounce it all off the ropes. Quote
chris olivarez Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Welcome Joe. Looking forward to your posts. Quote
Joe Carter Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Joe Carter here. Thanks so much for all the welcomes. I'm starting to feel the pressure that I have to post something worthwhile. I'll try to do my best. I hope to get into some of the threads and post my two cents. Jim: very funny link to the "Joe Carter page at AMG". JC Quote
catesta Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 I'm starting to feel the pressure that I have to post something worthwhile. Just ignore that feeling, posting something worthwhile in this joint is not mandatory. Hell, it's not even all that common. See, I just proved my own point. Quote
Jim R Posted June 9, 2004 Author Report Posted June 9, 2004 Joe, take your shoes off, relax, make yourself at home. You can post about whatever you want... something trivial, or even something quite important, such as... Quote
