Did anyone here see the Ron Blake quartet (at times quintet) at the Detroit Jazz Festival??? In my opinion, this group was one of the best at this year's festival. I thought the Louis Hayes quintet, James Carter quintet and Jon Faddis quartet gave a very strong performance, too.

Anyway, I am tyring to remember the first tune Ron Blake played. I remember the melody. I have heard that song before, but can't remember the name. Can anyone help?

Oh yeah, it was one smokin' show. I wish you could have made it to the show. Joey DeFrancesco almost stole the show. He is just an exciting and fun player to watch and listen.

Anyway, I think most tunes were from his Mac Avenue CD. The song I really liked sounded like Dexter Gordon's Cheesecake. It may have been the one. Does he play that tune often? I thought you might know. Didn't you tour with him before?
