It has come to my attention that folks are having a problem uploading images (including avatars). I've looked into this and it seems to be on my end.

I think what happened is when the transfer took place, the folder permissions were reset. Basically I have to manually give the uploads folder the go ahead to write data by anonymous users or else I'm the only one that can write to it.

Unfortunately, my password no longer works so I can't get to the folder to change it. I've emailed tech support about this and hopefully they'll respond soon.

Argh.

Speaking of images, if we're going to a dedicated server, would it be a good idea for us to refrain from posting images?

Hey Jon - I hope my post above didn't hurt your feelings! It's an interesting graphic, but I couldn't help but zero in on my nose. I thought it was the second coming of W.C Fields! ;)

Nope, no offense taken at all Joe! ;)

Every image that I post on the Board comes out in reduced size no matter what size I start with. My question is: How to post a non-reduced size image? You know, I put it within the allowable boundaries, then I simply transfer/post in that size. And, what are the allowable perimeters? [The Search Function steered me to this thread.]

thanks

You have to have the image hosted somewhere. Photobucket is a good place to do so. If you attach an image, you are basically hosting it on my server and it will be treated as an attachment and reduced in size within the post.
