Proposed BFT 21 bonus disc

My turn for the BFT is coming up and it looks like it’s going to happen right in time for the holidays.

I’m going to be making two discs: one for the regular BFT, and then another to be determined. I’m looking for feedback as to which one would get the most responses:

A special Christmas BFT, featuring Christmas/holiday songs in mainly jazz settings (along with the occasional left-field track). No elevator/shopping-mall music, I guarantee you!

A disc that I like to call “Short Attention Span Radio,” which is the aural equivalent of changing the radio station every ten seconds and hearing clips of songs. It consists of various guitar/piano/synth/whatever solos, song openings, fadeouts, and other random noise that always jump out at me from a particular song. I’ve had a tape of this for about ten years which I love to listen to, and I thought it would be fun to FINALLY digitize the thing and let y’all guess the contents of the disc. I would start a thread with a blank form, and as people post their guesses, the correct answer would then be posted to the original post (along with the name of the poster who guessed first). There’s no prizes for the most guesses except for the fawning praise of the maker of the disc for having as little a life as me.

Big Al, I think both sound like great ideas too.

I have a couple items I wanted to put on a BFT that I can't identify, and hope others could. I have 2 cds of a DJ mixing rare records with no track listing, I'd love to put that through the BFT wringer here and see what drips out! Too bad I can't get on until the next election.

While I love holiday-themed jazz and have a rather hefty collection of X-mas albums in particular, and while I certainly prefer full songs to snippits, I've gotta say that "Short Attention Span Radio" sounds very intriguing. It gets my vote!
