wolff Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 When you send payment to USA, can you use $$ from your Paypal/bank accounts or do you always have to use a credit card? Quote
Claude Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I don't know about bank accounts, but you can use $ credits that are on your Paypal account. If the amount to pay exceeds the credit on your account, the rest will be taken off your credit card. Quote
wolff Posted November 10, 2004 Author Report Posted November 10, 2004 Thanks. That explains what I've been running into lately. I have 2 Paypal accounts. The one I try to use is the standard account that charges zero fees for receiving funds, but does not accept cc's. Only funds from your Paypal or bank account. In the EU, Asia, etc., the bank account option is not available to buyers. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I just ran into this with a Mosaic deal... why doesn't Paypal give EU members the option to link up a bank account? Money? It could be. When I want to buy something with Paypal, I simply request a transfer of the amount I need and 3 days later, it's there. It's pretty simple. On the EU Paypal site, they refer to this and list a form you have to fill out. It should be possible. BTW, the way we got around not having this option was to have the money wired into my account. I wouldn't recommend this. The bank on that end charged around 5% and my bank on this end charged $10. What a pain. Are international money orders had to get and/or expensive over there? In the US, we can get them at US post offices. I've never thought of the US as an "easy" place to bank but it does appear that we have some conveniences that we take for granted. All this Paypal stuff drives me nuts. Every time someone sends me a credit card payment, I get asked to "convert" my account. I'd do it if it meant that credit card payments would then be charged 3%. Unfortunately, when you convert ALL charges from then on are charged 3%... that's just not right. Later, Kevin Quote
Claude Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Is it possible to have two Paypal accounts, one for receiving credit card payments, and the other for receiving payments from Paypal account to Paypal account? Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Since my account is "linked" to my bank account, I would think that to have two Paypal accounts, I'd need two bank accounts? I thought I read that Paypal requires a linked bank account now just to avoid someone having two accounts? I'll have to look into this. Kevin Quote
wolff Posted November 10, 2004 Author Report Posted November 10, 2004 You need 2 bank accounts and seperate e-mails. You can ellect to have a linked Paypal account on Ebay. Quote
porcy62 Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 Paypal asked me TWO DIFFERENT CREDIT CARDS, Visa and American or Mastercard, because due to Visa restriction I reached my spending limit, (2000 dollars). I had my Bank account linked, but this seems it doesn't affect my spending limit. Consider my Visa has a monthly limit well over 2000 and ebay limit is not monthly. I simply reached my total limit in two years! I asked ebay why should I have another CC that I really don't need, an unusuful cost apart ebay, they answered I have to due to Visa restrictions. The result is I quit Paypal and use Bidpay or CC direct to sellers. Quote

Yes, Bidpay is more expensive than Paypal, maybe I am only angry with Paypal who push me to get another CC. Anyway I can live without Paypal, I live in Italy, if you consider the cost of air shipping, and the average price on Ebay Jazz Records, Bidpay is the minor problem. Quote
