Uptown Records Discography

I just took a quick look at the discography and spotted a couple of things.

Schildkraut plays tenor on much (if not all) of his date.

The Joe Puma was issued on Reservoir vinyl. The Reservoir Ralph Moore date was recorded as an Uptown as well.

"Follow Me", on the Jack Sheldon record, is a Cecil Payne composition. On the same date, the correct title of the Jerry Dodgion tune is "No Trump".

Yes - there are things missing because I don't own them and others haven't yet supplied the details. If it's not listed and you've got it, please do jump in.

The Dodgion title is listed as No Trumps in the BMI database, apparently recorded under that title first with Marian McPartland (1979). I'll adjust it but I will want to ask him.

OK - the Moore from December 1985 (Round Trip) was an Uptown, but what about the Ponomarev from April 1985 (Means Of Identification)? The Peter Leitch from November 1985 (Red Zone)? When was the great divide - 1987?

Latest draft now online.

Many thanks!

Mike

Mike,

Pepper Adams Conjuration was also released on cd by Reservoir RSR CD 113. The cd contains three songs not on the lp

Claudettes Way-Adams-7:35

Dylans Delight-Adams-6:46

Quittin' Time-Thad Jones-6:52

The Peter Leitch album Exhilaration was also released on Reservoir RSR CD 118. It also has extra material, but i dont know if it was recorded for Uptown. There are some duo tracks recorded in 1988.

I just found an old Reservoir catolog and the Al Grey/Buddy Tate Just Jazz date was issued as RSR CD 110. I dont know if it had any extra material.
