wolff Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 (edited) Well, our season lasted longer than I thought it would this year. Entered the CIF Southern Section Division I-AA (California) tournament as a wild card and won three straight. Then won a coin flip to play Etiwanda(Fontana, CA, 28-1 and ranked 8th nationally) in our home gym in the quarter finals. We beat Etiwanda last year for the championship. They have all their players back and we have a young team. I was worried about us getting blown out. Long Beach Poly(Long Beach, CA) 49 Etiwanda 51 Watched the game with an old friend/neighbor, Charles Gwynn, Tony Gwynn's(MLB Hall Of Fame) older brother. Edited February 27, 2005 by wolff Quote
Jazzmoose Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 I wouldn't even know how to begin finding out! Quote
Jazzmoose Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 Well, whaddya know...you can find out anything on the internet! We only went 8-12 this year, so no tournament for us. Odd discover: when I graduated back in '75 we were the Blue Tide. Now we're the Wildcats. Damn kids... Quote
BFrank Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 I don't know......but I remember we were in the CIF. (Santa Barbara High) Quote
chris olivarez Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 I don't know how my old high school is doing in the playoffs but lousy probably wouldn't be too bad a guess. However, the high school I do play by play for is a different matter. Both the boys and girls team won their district tournament title games which earned them the right to host a regional tournament in Colorado class 3A. If they win the regional tournament then it's onto the state tournament and then we'll see. Quote
wolff Posted February 28, 2005 Author Report Posted February 28, 2005 I don't know......but I remember we were in the CIF. (Santa Barbara High) The Dons went 18-10, falling in the second round to Capistrano Valley (Mission Viejo, CA) --CIF-SS Div IIAA L 55-57. Maxpreps.com is a good site for info like this. Quote
Guy Berger Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 The Warriors are bad enough to be a high school team, but I don't think they're going to the playoffs this year... Guy Quote
ghost of miles Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Have completely lost interest in Hoosier Hysteria since we went to the class system. Quote
