AfricaBrass Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 HAPPY LOVE DAY!!! I figure if the Mad Hatter can have 364 un-birthdays then there's no reason not to continue this one. Quote
RDK Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 I see Love Day has gone international with our friends in the U.K. joining us in this new celebration.... B-) This is just like how "Talk Like a Pirate Day" got started... Hmmm. I wonder if I can convince my wife that today is Love Day? Quote

Soul Stream Posted March 2, 2005 Author Report Posted March 2, 2005 (edited) I see Love Day has gone international with our friends in the U.K. joining us in this new celebration.... B-) This is just like how "Talk Like a Pirate Day" got started... Hmmm. I wonder if I can convince my wife that today is Love Day? Does a "Love Night" count? Love Day isn't about when the sun's out in the sky. It's about when the sun's out in your heart...or your pants. Edited March 2, 2005 by Soul Stream Quote

See my message above regarding spirit crushing illness. Wait a sec, you replied to that message, so you already know about reasons to not get any love on love day. Excuse me, Love Day. Quote
AfricaBrass Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 I hope you feel better soon, Dan! I'm taking care of my son who is sick also. I feel for you guys. Quote
Joe G Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Let's not confuse love with sex. I know we've had a steady diet of pop music lyrics all our lives that do just that. Remember, Love Day was started by an innocent little girl! So c'mon Dan, feel the love! You'll get back to the other stuff soon enough... :rsmile: Quote

rachel Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Today, my 6 year-old daughter drew a heart with "Love Day" inside of it. And declared it Love Day today. Out of all the bogus and tired holidays we have...thought she had a pretty good idea. So...Happy Love Day! to everybody. Try to pass it on. Ah.... little girls The heart that she made needs to be lovingly stored in a scrapbook of some kind for years to come. March 1 used to be one of those sad 'anniversary' days (my father's passing); now I think I will probably always remember the story of little Soul Streamette's hearts (the one that she made and the six-year-old one filled with innocence and love...) That's a wonderful post. I'm sorry for your loss, Rachel. This reminds me about the concept that the flapping of a butterfly's wing effects something on the other side of the world. I like that one, and this thread is an illustration about how Soul Stream's daughter's kindness has had an effect. Quote
rachel Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 thanks Jeff. Just proves the healing power of children, eh? Quote
Guest che Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 Ok this is tough for me, but happy 'Love Day' all. You know we are not that different at all, and it took someone on this list to help remind me of this for which I am grateful. To the friends I have made in the short time I have been here Happy Love Day. Che. Quote

Soul Stream Posted March 2, 2005 Author Report Posted March 2, 2005 Glad to see my little one's love has really taken flight. Here's her Love Day drawing that started it all. Quote
AfricaBrass Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 That's great Soul Stream. You should buy her a pony or something good. Quote
tonym Posted March 2, 2005 Report Posted March 2, 2005 You're obviously doing a great job bringing up your daughter SS1. When she can conceive and exhibit something so meaningful. Simple to her, emotionally complex for the adult kingdom Quote
tonym Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Come on gang! It was St. Davids Day! Only important if you're Welsh. Which you would never admit to anyway. Quote

Mark J Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Love Day was a gag holiday created on the Simpsons a few years ago. The greeting card guys have a meeting and need a holiday in-between other holidays where they can get people to buy more cards, and they create Love Day, selling all kinds of accessories. They say something like 'lets call it something like 'love day', but more creative' and wind up with Love Day as the holiday. Homer is angry because Marge doesn't buy him the Love Day bear he wanted, they throw away all the Love Day accessories, including this elaborate lawn display, and this leads into a plot about Homer fighting the sanitation department. Was your daughter watching the Simpsons recently? Quote

Peter Johnson Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Love Day was a gag holiday created on the Simpsons a few years ago [blah blah blah blah] Bah. I'm going to pretend I didn't read this post. I refuse to accept that Love Day has any roots in commercialization. I Love "Love Day" and this thread warms my heart. Out of the mouths of babes. Thanks for sharing, Soulstream! Quote
