brownie
Those stories are depressing! Not sure you should be thanked for relaying that, Chalupa! But I would have hated missing reading them, so thanks anyway
Chalupa
Yeah, they are depressing. I was going to delete the thread but I can't figure out how to do it.
brownie
Chalupa, I would not delete this. It's a very interesting read, even if a depressing one. Please leave it as it is!

Dan Gould
Yes, it may be depressing to read about Billie's drug bust, but this man has led an interesting life. He's not just a cop who hassled Billie Holiday, and I'm glad that you called attention to the article. There's no need to delete.
wigwise
I found this article to be more interesting then depressing. He (Gilliard) sounds like a kind, big hearted guy with street smarts and business savvy. As for busting Billie and Ray, he was just doing his job. What really impressed me most (above and beyond his professional achievements) was to read that he visited Billie in the hospital, just before she died. Also, his commitment to the community. Thanks for the post Chalupa.
Alexander
I agree. Fascinating article. I know I'd hate to be the one to arrest my musical hero. This man strikes me as being very brave.
JSngry
His is the kind of "interesting life" that I am glad to have not led.
