Guest
This is Peter Mistretta from Savoy Jazz in New York City. I just wanted to let everyone know that you should pick up the latest CDs from pianist Vijay Iyer and saxophonist Ravi Coltrane. Vijay Iyer’s CD, entitled “Reimagining”, features Rudresh Mahanthappa on alto saxophone, Stephen Crump on bass, and Marcus Gilmore on drums. Ravi Coltrane’s CD, “In Flux”, features Luis Perdomo on Piano, Drew Gress on bass, and the inimitable E.J. Strickland on drums. For more information about Vijay Iyer, Ravi Coltrane, or other Savoy artists, check out www.Savoyjazz.com.
jlhoots
A little blatant promotion in the above post. In all fairness I have them both, & they're both excellent. I have no connection to Savoy Jazz.
bertrand
Josh, Since Savoy is now reissuing Muse, how soon can we expect a CD reissue of the Joe Chambers/Larry Young Double Exposure album? Thanks, Bertrand.
ghost of miles
Josh Sherman works (or used to work) for BMG & was involved with the massive Ellington set. Industry-insider joke? Glad that Savoy is still putting out jazz.
