Hoboken Italian Festival

I'm thinking about checking it out on Saturday, if it's the real deal.

Think there will be a "concrete overshoes" three-legged race?

Or maybe how many people can fit in the trunk of a Caddy?

Bobbing for cannoli?

OK, I apologize for this post. Couldn't help myself. I'm sure the event will be great. Parking, however, will be murder.

Haven't been to that particular festival, but I have been to an Italian festival sponsored by a church in Hoboken. St Michael's I think. That's the real deal, although I can't see this one being bad ...overpriced? yes., but I'd bet the food is happenin'.

......produced a large quantity of something......

.....although one would think grape-stomping might produce something a little more......well, grape colored.

you probably know this already, but the big Italian festival in Manhattan's Little Italy is the San Gennaro festival and it usually is happening around now., but I am not sure of the dates.

Also, Arthur Ave. in the Bronx has some good ones.

I grew up in Jersey- but in South Jersey- Hoboken's about 2 hours north.

San Gennaro starts around the middle of September and lasts for about 10 days.

I've been a few times and have always had a blast.

I went and had a great time.

Hoboken is much nicer than I remembered.

They did a wonderful job putting this thing on.

I'm chomping on some zeppole we brought home.

Can't say I've heard of this one but Hoboken is very nice. I've heard it's a great place to live. Plus, if you work in "the" City, it's a great commute.

Unfortunately, this festival occurs on my block. It starts on the 15th and goes for ten, long, noisy, smelly days.

You have my sympathy. I wouldn't want to have to deal with it every day.

Still, I will be probably be there next weekend contributing my share of smells and noise.
