djcavanagh Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 I am looking for the following Blue Note Connoisseur cds: Bobby Hutcherson - Medina/Spiral Freddie Redd - Shades of Redd in near-mint condition. I am prepared to pay very good prices for both, in particular the Hutcherson. Thanks Denis Quote
MartyJazz Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Both great albums. Unless anyone has a duplicate(s), no way anyone is gonna part with either disc. Quote
couw Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 The Redd has recently been reissued in the TOCJ24 series. That one will lack the two alternate takes, but can be had for cheap. Quote
djcavanagh Posted September 24, 2005 Author Report Posted September 24, 2005 Thanks. I saw that on hmv.co.jp (which has a great English language site) but I am quite interested in the alternates. I would imagine that they will eventuallty release it as an RVG but I am just impatient! Unfortunately Medina doesn't seem like the type of thing that will be "RVG-ed." Quote
AmirBagachelles Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Try Norman's Sound in NYC, on Cooper Square. That's where old Blue Note titles go and wait for us. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 I'll listen to my Freddie Redd to see if I can part with it. Got anything to offer as trade? Just PM me if you do. Quote
djcavanagh Posted September 24, 2005 Author Report Posted September 24, 2005 Thanks for the great response. I have provisionally agreed to buy each cd (I told you I was impatient!), so hopefully, as long as the cds are in the expected conditions, I'll have them before I go on holiday. Try Norman's Sound in NYC, on Cooper Square. That's where old Blue Note titles go and wait for us. Thanks Amir. Unfortunately I live in London but I will have a look when I go to New York in May. StormP Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 What's a Connoisseur cd? I have never tried to eat 'em. Quote

JSngry Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 What's a Connoisseur cd? I have never tried to eat 'em. ← First you boil them until they're al dente. From there, the only limits are your imagination, your budget, and/or the availabilty of ingredients in your specific locale (freshness being essential). Enjoy! A whole new world of pleasure awaits!
