Still have and use a Lava Lamp. Several, in fact. Played a lot of video arcade games in the late 70s- Battle Zone, Galaxian, Asteroids, Tempest, etc. Fan of the frisbee & "frolf". I had a Strombecker 1/32 slot car set that rocked. Got to love the Silly Putty. Rock'em Sock'em Robots- a friend had one, I always wanted one. One robot was always the "good" one and always won though. Mouse Trap, Operation- cool games that you would lose pieces to and not be able to play. Those had been around in the 1970s but really got big in the 1980s. I played a bit BUT I stopped in high school. Trendy clothes - OP (Ocean Pacific) - nothing more pathetic than kids from the midwest dressing like they are going to go hang ten. Izod - still around I gather Polo The preppy look was kind of a fad, though one that seems to have returned. Skinny ties I still like narrow ties, but not the extremely skinny ones. Tie-dies (from the 1970s). I've indulged in more than my share of fads, though I've never let one take over my life (well, maybe the internet). Pretty attractive, no? ← No. Somehow, I miraculously survived the late 60s, 70s, and 80s in Berkeley without buying Birkenstocks. Even lived in a Cal Co-op.
