slide_advantage_redoux Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 (edited) I am looking for alternate recordings of the Ellington Band playing the composition "Creole Love Call". I do have one version - probably the most well known and original recording from Oct. 1927. I have another LP recorded live (a much later date) that has the tune listed, but I think it is a misprint. I know that Ellington's arrangements evolved over the years, with many different versions of the same tune, but what is on this live LP is in no way related to the '27 version. I have a special fondness for the 1949 version (with Kay Davis, Hodges and Ray Nance) because it's one of the very first Duke I heard and loved!
