Alfred Posted November 13, 2005 Report Posted November 13, 2005 Wow...2173 here; better late than never! 2047 (or is it 2041?!). Late ... not too late! Quote
RDK Posted November 13, 2005 Report Posted November 13, 2005 What numbers do the band members have? ← They got some without numbers. ← A small question. In "limited editions" of 2500 or whatever (such as Mosaic, and this), does that usually mean "2500 plus a few for band members and other special folks?" I owe you an email to order it and the Warne Marsh. ← Yes, there are "extras" used for participants and review copies. In the record/cd manufacturing process there are always "overruns", in fact contracts with pressing plants and printers traditionally include a phrase containing something like " plus or minus 10% is considered a complete order". Mass manufacturing ot this kind is imprecise - they always print/press extras to cover for "defects" and other factory mishaps. ← Wouldn't this also explain the "loose," "used," and "partial" Mosaics that one occassionally finds? Chuck Nessa Posted November 13, 2005 Author Report Posted November 13, 2005 Wouldn't this also explain the "loose," "used," and "partial" Mosaics that one occassionally finds? ← Sure, I'm going to have some odd parts left over too. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Heck, I have odd parts left over myself... Quote
Guy Berger Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 When I walked in to my apt tonight Chuck was waiting with a mask and a shotgun... I knew I had no choice but to spring for the box. Guy Quote
RDK Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Had the box, didn't care much for it (prefer AEC a bit later), sold it, but now that I'm really digging "Sound" I'm thinking about getting it again... Quote

Guy Berger Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Mine arrived so fast I think Chuck drove it here himself. I won't get a chance to listen to it until 2006 due to a humongous backlog (plus I want to hear Roscoe's Sound first) but looking forward to it. Where is the box #? Guy Quote

Quincy Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 #2230 Like Parkertown I have to be careful about when I play it. The cat digs it though. Quote
CPC Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 Scott in Parkertown here with #2039! I shall be spinnin' this set tonite...much to the wife's chagrin... I have set #55, I paid for that baby the second I heard about it, and have probably played it around 2x a year since then. I just played a few cds of it last week actually. Great stuff, I can't believe you couldn't sell 10,000 of those Chuck. Now for your next box set? C Quote
Parkertown Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 Actually, I believe he's just about to sell out... BTW, welcome to the board. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted December 3, 2005 Author Report Posted December 3, 2005 Welcome CPC. You still live in CT? Quote
CPC Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Welcome CPC. You still live in CT? Yes I do. Same as when I ordered that set 12 years ago. Seems like just a couple years to me. Really, thanks for issuing this. It's got to be a labor of love. I love all that AACm stuff, from way back then til now. Quote
Werf Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 This got me looking thru my ledgers (spiral notebooks, really) and I see John Zorn got #42, Thurston Moore #65 and Werner Uehlinger #73. Forgive me my nostalgia. I have #73 Chuck. You got the orders from Werner and I the same day, so he might have 72 or 74. I remember when I got this in the mail I felt elated. Last night I listened to disc A and disc E, and greatly enjoyed the music. I haven't listened to this set for at least five years, so I'm going to keep it out for a while. The rehearsal stuff is great, listening to the interactions. And having big 30 plus minute explorations of AE, terrific. Quote
