JSngry Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 (edited) Just heard about this, nine months late. Apparently non-jazz tragedies don't get prompt coverage. http://www.thespeciousreport.com/2005/0505...andteicher.html Let's hope that he's recovered by now. Edited December 10, 2005 by JSngry Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 Before I get too excited, which one is Ferranti? What happened to the piano? Is it ok? Anyone remember the outcome of the tiger story? You must know that one about the 2 krauts. Las Vegas is a very important community. How many dead tonight, how many just "mauled" Quote
Jim R Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 What happened to the piano? Is it ok? I think they had to put it down. Too bad. I've always said, it's not the piano, it's the owner. Pianos aren't born agressive. Quote
Brownian Motion Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 Reminds me of a story I remember hearing from my high school days. Eddie Condon is at a cocktail party. Eddie Duchin is playing the piano. A woman comes up to Condon and says "Oh Mr. Condon, doesn't Mr. Duchin play lovely piano. Why, he makes that piano talk!" To which Condon replies 'Yes, the piano talks alright: it says get your clumsy goddamn hands off of me." Quote
mikeweil Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 The rolls on which these grand pianos are moved have locks, you just have to push down a lever at each of them to keep them in place. Pretty unprofessional to not use them .... Quote

PHILLYQ Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Sadly, this attack is only one of many. Coming soon to your local video store, 'When Pianos Attack', shocking footage of Steinway, Bosendorfer, and lesser brands attacking unsuspecting players. Quote
Spontooneous Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 It happened in my family too. Grandpa was never the same after the war. I remember him showing me the scars he got from that Bechstein. Quote
