Guest
A friend of my husband had us over for their Christmas bash tonight. At about midnight it had dwindled down to about 15 people or so. Jazz was playing all night, so it wasnt that big a suprise when he told us he was going to put on some Jackie McLean. However he comes out of his library with a reel to reel, and puts it on the hi-fi. The box cover said, in handwriting, jackie mclean/jazz workshop 1960. the recording quality, although not profesional, was pretty decent. i inquired about the source, history of the tape, only to get a smirk and a refill of wine from our gracious host! it was quite an interesting treat to cap off a great night. sidewinder
Very cool ! That must have been around the time that Jackie was appearing in the play 'The Connection'. Wonder who was in the band?
ValerieB
my only disappointment is that i had the hope that there had been a christmas miracle and that jackie was performing someplace live!
