Hardbopjazz Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 (edited) I bought some CD's, Jackie Mclean's CONSEQUENCE and IKE QUEBEC's the complete 45 sessions. I am able to play them on my stereo at home, but when I try to play them in my car I get an error on the CD player. What would cause this? Edited January 19, 2006 by Hardbopjazz Quote
Swinging Swede Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 Are you sure they are CDs? The non-US releases of those titles are in the inferior Cactus Datashield format, which is known for often being unplayable on car stereos. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted January 19, 2006 Author Report Posted January 19, 2006 I believe they are CD's. Looks like all others I have bought in the past. Quote
Swinging Swede Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 Well, the discs themselves look the same; it's the cover that should give it away. There isn't any copy-protection info on the back cover, for example? Is your copy manufactured in the U.S. or somewhere else? Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted January 19, 2006 Author Report Posted January 19, 2006 I ordered from CD universe. I have to look and see if it says it is copy protected. Quote
bertrand Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Shouldn't be protected. Do they play on your computer? When a player refuses to play more than one or two CDs, it's probably the player on the fritz. Bertrand. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted January 23, 2006 Author Report Posted January 23, 2006 No, I couldn't get them working there either. Not a big deal, I burrnt a copy of them and that works in my car and PC. Odd. Quote
