BERIGAN Posted May 16, 2007 Author Report Posted May 16, 2007 I finally got it straight about time I turned 45. Then I'll warn my wife that it's gonna be another 7 years or so before I do. Umm, you might want to drink some olive oil and avoid surgery altogether! Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted May 30, 2007 Report Posted May 30, 2007 Back from the hospital about an hour ago, sans one gall bladder that was removed yesterday morning. Quite sore in the mid-section, but otherwise recovering nicely. The surgery went well, and all of the hospital staff I encountered (well over a dozen people in barely more than 24 hours) were very professional, helpful, and friendly - without exception. I'll be resting at home all this week, and then back to work on Monday. No heavy lifting for 4-6 weeks, but I'll otherwise be pretty much back to normal within a week or two. Quote
Free For All Posted May 30, 2007 Report Posted May 30, 2007 Good news RT! Glad to hear it's over with and that it went well. Now take it easy and heal up. Quote

You must not have had it done laparoscopically. [i was in and out of hosp in 3 & 1/2 hrs.] Take it easy, kick back, break open a cool one, put some Boots Randolf on.... Quote

Nope, I did get it done laparoscopically, and I could have gone home the same day - but the surgeon I had said that both he (and the hospital that I was at) prefer to have people stay one night, in case of complications. But you're right, many hospitals do the same procedure I had, where you're in and out in the same day. But I, for one, was VERY glad I stayed the night. I was pretty sore (still am), and it was good to have the hosptal staff checking on me all afternoon and evening, and this morning. Edited May 30, 2007 by Rooster_Ties Quote

Did you get to take your gall bladder home with you in a jar? Seriously, good to hear that the surgery went fine! Guy Quote
