Hello all,

WKCR is doing an entire day of Ornette Coleman on March 9 to celebrate his birthday.

Thanks PQ!

Their web site isn't responding to access by me right now, but I'm looking forward to any rarities they have to offer. Maybe they could have Ornette come by and try to explain WTF harmelodics are. :rfr:lol::g

Can't believe they played "Free Jazz" on vinyl. Not that it's a bad thing hearing the "flip," but there're a couple of good versions on CD.....

He's explaining why...

Didn't hear that. After about a minute there's children to attend to which makes the long narrative impossible to absorb. He mentioned 1975 and the multi-day Coleman marathon, said they sent a copy of the broadcast to O.C., and that's about as much as I got. What did he say?

He must have played four sides of "Free Jazz" as I heard two "flips." ?

I don't know. He yammers on and on and he lost me. I was trying to work at the time. I tuned in and hour later and he was telling his Ornette in the studio story again.
