Chuck Nessa Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 I'm looking for the first two Classics cds (1921-24 & 1924-26) as well as EPM Jazz Archive "Clarence Williams Vol 3" (1925-26). Any help would be appreciated. Quote

Chuck, for the Classics discs, you could try townsendrecords.co.uk - but they do not necessarily have stock of all they list on their website. https://www.townsend-records.co.uk/search.p...s&sMethod=music Quote
Christiern Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 A Clarence Williams obsession? Sounds serious, Chuck--I hope his pedestrian keyboard work is not the attraction. Quote
tjluke68 Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 I have The Complete Sessions, Vol. 1 (1923-1926), but I imagine you have that one already. Quote

I placed an order with Townsend (thanks to LAL's recommendation) but have little faith they will really have these two titles. Quote

You never know - I ordered the Boswell Sisters Vol 5 on Nostalgia Arts, which seems to be OOP, and they delivered the disc, albeit a used one. And they stock (or used to) a fair number of Storyvilles, Candids etc which I can't seem to get anywhere else. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted April 21, 2006 Author Report Posted April 21, 2006 Email from Townsend this morning telling me all 5 Classics ordered (2 Williams, 1 Benny Carter & 2 Claude Hopkins) have been discontinued. The search continues. Quote
AmirBagachelles Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 I'll check at Norman's on my way home. And I'll pass thru one, possibly both Bay Area Ameoba's next wk. Quote
