Lazaro Vega
In looking up music to play tonight for a program featuring Dewey Redman, came across this review at All Music Guide. Sorry I don't have the album to play on the radio. http://tinyurl.com/zrbkq
Chuck Nessa
No blatant "untruths" in the review, but I guess you had to be there. This was seen as an "interesting failure" at the time (by me and the folks with whom I associated). As a distributor of this material I can say very few bought it. The release of this recording only added to JCOA's problems. I have not kept my copy and did not tape it before the sale.
JohnS
I still have mine. Togther with the Roswell Rudd and Leroy Jenkins JCOAs. Maybe the Thornton is due for a play as it's probably not been out for a decade or more at least. In the circumstances they should probably be in my disposal pile. brownie
I still have the original Virgin copy with the inside liner notes. The least played album from the JCOA series. Probably time for a reevaluation! Doubt it ever made it to Richard Branson's hits list either! But he had the guts to release the album
